is there a way to reload widgets without reloading the whole skin?

like next episode or youtube subscriptions? 

Youtube subscriptions only reload when watching another yt video and next episode sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt. 


oh- and speaking off episodes. idk why but an Episode only gets listed as watched when its watched 100 percent in this skin. 

normal behavior (from my research) should be that if uve watched 90 percent of the show it should be marked as watched. 

i even set advanced settings to set it to 80 percent but the skin only marks an Episode as watched if its watched 100 percent. 

and this is skin depended. when im in estuary 80 percent are actually enough. 

its not a big Problem for me but it would help a lot of 90 or 80 percent would be enough to mark it as watched

Icon view : Is it possible to add an "Icon Info 2" view with a smaller Info Pane on the left?
Symbol view : Can you add a small overlayed oneliner at the bottom with informations like year, duration and imdb
Settings : To navigate in settings is a little bit confusing. I think it would help if the first page shows thumbnails like the kodi default skin. Then the subpages can take the HORIZON navigation behavior like at the othe submenus.

I'm not sure what you mean by "symbol view"?

I'm quite busy for the next two weeks, but after that I will be adding some improvements to settings (settings widget and settings landing page and so on). I will look at the idea of Icon Info 2 then also.

I like horizon a lot thank you, the one problem I have is when I use the Plex app I get the date and time, the bottom of the movie is out of focus, it does this on other skins but after a short time it goes on horizon it stays like this

Sorry I don't use Plex and I'm not really sure what you are even talking about really. Do you mean it goes out of focus as in it goes blurry? Because that is unlikely to be a skin issue if that is the case.

Unfortunately, no command I know of to update a single widget container (or even all of them).

Is the watched issue showing the resume icon or nothing at all? If an item has ListItem.IsResumable set by kodi then skin will show a circular pie icon which displays how much has been watched (less than 1/3 shows one pie piece, between 1/3 and 2/3 watched shows two pie pieces, and more than 2/3 watched shows 3).
If the item can be resumed, it will show a resumable pie icon regardless of whether or not it has been watched.

weird. i get no pie at all. 

on the top corner is either a blue hook or nothing at all. 

but the hook which marks an Episode as watched only appears if 100 percent of the show has been watched. 

this automatically changes the next episode widget from the skin helper service widgets. right now i either have to watch 100 percent or manually set the Show to "mark as watched"

but normally i get this hook when i have watched 90 percent of that episode (Episode without the moving text at the end of a show which shows producers, actors etc). 

there has to be something because in estuary i get shows automatically marked as watched when i had watched 90 percent

What naming convention does Horizon require for logo / clearart? It is not finding my local logo.png or clearlogo.png

Not an issue with the Horizon.  The Plex add-on (plex for kodi) is meant to be used with the default kodi skin.  Confluence in v16 and Estuary in v17

The skin doesn't check for local files - it uses whatever is in the database. You need to use Artwork Downloader to add artwork to the database.

Two issues popped up recently, the first one is  whenever i go into like tv shows/movies/addons or anything with a list the focus stays on the left instead selecting the first item in the list


Second is the pvr guide is no longer showing the images that skinhelper gets

yep- thats the same mistake ive too. this and the watched Episode bug are the issues ive right now. 

i also just used the omni skin (pretty similar too horizon in icon mode). 

its ten times faster. dont know why.

used it for the first time and got the whole skin loaded with sebmenu and widgets within minutes. 

i click on add on and bam- its here. in horizon ive to wait half a minute for each step. Also the loading of the new settings- 5 seconds and the whole skin was set up. 

in horizon it takes half a minute if i just change an icon. 

do u have an idea why?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a way to add background color overlay to new created items on home menu? There is currently no color overlay for new items created on the home menu while original home menu items do have a color overlay for my setup. I like the color overlay and would like to make my home menu look a little more consistent.

After some testing, it appears background color overlay does not appear on the home menu for shortcuts that do not have a submenu or widgets. Would it be possible for you to update the skin in the future so that this is no longer required. Thanks for all the great work you have done on the skin so far.

One more thing, can you add more views for when browsing files in video sources and possibly playlist as well? Thanks!

@everyone - I am going to be extremely busy over the next week, but I will have some free time after that, so I promise I will get to all your bug reports / requests / concerns in about a week! In the meantime keep them coming

@Joe23rep - Omni would be faster because it is flat so it uses less textures (likely mostly just one white square that is coloured the appropriate colour and stretched). Horizon, on the other hand, uses some fairly big textures to get gradients and the grain texture effect and the background overlays etc. I'm pretty sure this is why it is a lot heavier than my other skins like Arctic and Eminence which both are flat. When I have some free time, I'm going to try out making a flat look version and see how much it changes performance. I don't have any where near as bad performance as you though. Are you using a firestick or a raspberry pi or something like that?

@leezy88 - yeah there was a discussion a while ago about this, and it was decided that people wanted menu items with nothing set to be clear so that you could see the background. When I have some time in a week, I will add an option. Personally, I always just use the weather widget when I have nothing set for a menu item.

@komplex - very odd that these issues have turned up. I haven't changed anything in the skin in regards to these things. In fact, I've barely changed anything in the skin lately as I have been so incredibly busy. I will look into these issues properly at the end of next week when I have some free time again

The skin doesn't check for local files - it uses whatever is in the database. You need to use Artwork Downloader to add artwork to the database.
