v17 Horizon - Krypton
@mattyspurs76 - the available viewtypes are set based upon whatever content type is set by the addon. Specific square views are only available if the content type is set to albums, artists, songs, or addons. However, in video content types both the standard list and the wall/showcase should show square artwork if no poster artwork is available. My guess is that super favourites is filling those artwork types when it shouldn't be. I don't really have much experience with that addon, but there's not much I can do when addons don't follow the standards established for content and artwork types.

EDIT: I might be mistaken, but I think super favourites has a way to change the content type of its folders.

@jurialmunkey

i love this skin but i´ve got some problems a few versions ago that made me switching back to arctic zephyr

1. after first boot long loading time of the overwiew  if i choose a playlist e. g. movies or series

2. youtube trailers started from the info section of a movie a played back choppy

3. videos sometimes (i guess it 25 fps tuff only) are sometimes in smooth parts looking like wrong framerate is used

For xmpl i don´t have any of that problems with your arctic zephyr skin.

Actually i am running latest krypton build on an amlogic s905x.

Do u have an idea?

Thx! Wink

I've just installed the skin, and it's great.

After some media library configuration steps I've lost the Movies item from the Main menu:

But it's on its place in the skin configuration menu:

So, why could it be missed and how to return it back?

Hard to tell, you have cut out the right side in the screen shot, it can be empty, if so nothing for the skin to do

It's not empty and I've tried to restore menu items - it doesn't help.

Seems good, and you have scanned your movies to the library?
Can you see them in Kodis default skin Estuary?
If no movies in library I think the menu get hidden

Yeah, it's there:

I'm using PlexKodiConnect to keep libraries in sync with PMS. So, there are no other media sources in Kodi.

It would be pretty unobvious. The TV Shows library should be empty too, but it's present in the Main menu.
I want to add Plex library shortcuts to the Movies menu, but I can't make the Movies menu visible.

I'm not a Plex user so can't help you moore, it must be some problem how you set up the connection to Plex because you don't see any movies (video is another menu) in Estuary either

Sorry, the Movies item is there, it was just out of view:

Yes but as you see it's empty
In an normal Kodi setup you creates a movie source as seen in last screen shot, how to do it when using plex connect I have no idea, where must be a wiki or something, I don't know how to do that

Edit: A good place to start reading I think https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConn...stallation

But it's there, to the point.

I don't get you. The issue is that Movies menu item is missing in the Horizon skin. There should be no hidden logic behind. If a user don't want to see some menu item then it should be explicitly turned off it the settings.

This has nothing to do with Horizon, it's about how you setup the PKC addon

I'm guessing now so if I'm wrong sorry for that
You are new to Kodi and want to use an advanced addon feature, Kodi needs to know where and how to connect to those sources, in your case a Plex DBs
How to do that is to read the wiki link above or ask for help in Plex forums

I can't agree, behaviour is different between the Estuary and Horizon skins.

I can't agree, it doesn't seem as a Kodi issue because Estuary skin works as expected.

This skin uses the skinshortcuts addon to build the home menus. This is standard behaviour of skinshortcuts and thus all skins that use it (Titan, Mimic, Arctic, Eminence to name a few). Default items like Movies will be hidden if the library contains no items.

Why exactly do you want to display the Movies item if you don't have Movies in your library?

Visibility for items is documented here: https://github.com/BigNoid/script.skinsh...ditions.md
As you can see, the visibility is only tied to the action of the item (not its label). So you can change the action to point somewhere else (e.g. to a video addon) and the item will show.

Horizon is a much heavier skin than Arctic. This is because Horizon has more textures, layers, and widgets. Likely cause is either high CPU or high RAM usage.

If you are using the official repo version, can you try switching Horizon to use its "Flat" theme (Settings > Interface > Theme > Flat).

The other thing you can try is turning off some of the skin effects in Skin Settings > Effects.
Try turning off:
Display background color overlay
Display background vignette effect
Blur fanart

Also try turning off the following in Skin Settings > Colors
Match highlight colors with poster
Match background overlay color with poster
Color cycling

Finally, try turning off some animations in Skin Settings > Miscellaneous (scroll down to see the options)
Use focus bounce animation (turn off)
Slide library over when opening sideblade (turn off)
Use parallax effect on background (turn off)
