Zap2xml for ATSC in OpenELEC
Appreciate the fast turnaround. I was just about to ask if I should downrev or just delete/disable the tvh userid/password so I could get my system back to updating again.

I'll update the addon sometime today and let you know the results tomorrow morning.

BTW - Did you ever figure out about the messy screen in info for zap2epg? I took another look the other day and it seems like it's multiple zap2epg version listings in a place that only has room for 1 line. I'll check it again later when I update, just to be sure.

As usual, thanks for the support in working this out.

Give 0.6.3 a try and let me know if you have any issues.

Update (12/25/17.0)

A quick update just to let you know everything is "humming" along just fine.

Cheers and happy New Year!! Smile

Update (12/19/17.0)

Update went as expected last night. There were ~1/2 doz. "Could not download guide data for: " msgs in the log file, but the update continued on and it performed flawlessly. Thx!!

Orig (12/18/17.0)

Had a few moments to update to v0.6.3. I ran it manually thru the addon UI and it was successful (Yayyyyy!!). I'll see if that "winning" continues in tonight's update Smile I also looked at the info window and everything appears nice and orderly. Very sweet!!

Thanks again and cheers...and happy holidays...

First I want to say thank you so much! You are a lifesaver!
I know this may be a stupid question, however...does this auto update or do I have to set a from? If so, can you tell me how?
Reply
It does auto update. No form to set as far as I know. However, once zap2epg is installed you do need to go into zap2epg to configure stations and a number of other options (don't want to scare you off, but depending on your system, you may have to actually put a tv_grab_zap2epg file into a specific directory). Also, you'll have to tell your backend/tuner interface (I use TVHeadend ("tvh")) to use tv_grab_zap2epg and it may have options to set the time(s) of day for when you want the updates to occur. I use tvh w/OSMC on a RPI 3-based system, so I'm not sure how much my experience or knowledge will help you.

Cheers.....and good luck.....and happy holidays.....

Added an option to disable the Tvheadend functions for those that want to use zap2epg without tvheadend.

Just install and run in kodi and then use cron to run the zap2epg.py script to regularly update your xmltv.xml file.

Thanks to all of you for the help and feedback on my zap2epg grabber.

For those that may be interested or in need of adding a streaming service grabber...

I just posted an alpha test of a xmltv grabber for the streamingtvguide.com listings.  Need a little bit of feedback to continue on it.

Here's the link: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2690735

Seems that there is an issue with setting autorecs.  If you set a series to record, instead of just adding that series it will add every program from that channel.

This only happens if you set the autorec from the TVHE UI, if you set it from Kodi it doesn't do this, though it will not record every series.  For instance "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" will be added to Autorec, but it will not add any of the episodes to the Upcoming/Current Recordings.

It seems this problem is specifically tied to zap2epg as I have attempted to even rollback to an older TVHE version  (4.2.2.32) and it is still happening and it did not happen with the previous zap2xml.

Here's a log file when just trying to record the series "The Big Bang Theory" https://paste.ubuntu.com/26386682/

Further, adding autorec entry via Kodi.

Adding (same) via TVHE UI.

@Tinwarble  I can confirm I am seeing a similar issue.  I will try to investigate in the next days or so.  Seems to be tied to series link recordings as guide based doesn't have the issue.

Not sure why it would be seeing this issue as there is nothing different in the way the xmltv.xml file is created.  Are you using the "scrape credits" and/or "use category instead of genre" options in the tvh grabber?

Not sure, it's what ever is set as default.  I haven't made any changes as (to make sure it was something else) done a full reset on my Libreelec device and did just enough to set everything up.

But there do seem to be some differences.

The 2 specific differences are the channel id (no "I" before the numbering), and the episode-num system="dd_progid" (no "." before 0647 in the new one).

Old: <episode-num system="dd_progid">EP01842300.0595</episode-num>
New: <episode-num system="dd_progid">EP018423000647</episode-num>

Not sure if either make a difference, but off hand that's all I can think of that might be different. Also the program start/stop don't have a "-" before the last 4 digits.

Thanks for posting that - there's two issues I see that could be causing the problem.

First the timezone offset is missing.  You should have a -0500 and not 0000 right now (I assume you are in the Eastern Time zone).

Second you're right about the episode number system - I'll heck that as it just pulls what the zap2it site feeds it - but it seems that it needs to be adjusted.

I should have an update to test tomorrow.

Thanks!

Correct, EST timezone.

I'll keep a look out for your build and test it once it's up.  No rush though, just when you get to it.

Also, on a side note.  Since you are the dev/maintainer of this add-on I suggest starting a new thread so that you can keep the top post updated instead of having any updates buried in the body of this thread.

That or I can split this thread into a new thread where your post is the OP.  If you want to do that just give me a start point (the first thread you want).

@Tinwarble  could you please test this version? It should solve the series recording problem.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ckkn586pg339ho...T.zip?dl=0

Also - I'm not sure where the timezone offset issue is coming from as it is correct on my test systems.  Can you check your xmltv.xml file and see if it still shows 0000 for the TZ offset - and also check to see if the guide times are accurate on your epg?

Thanks!

P.S.  As soon as we check these issues I think I will start the new thread and finally make a 1.0 release for real.  :-)

@edit4ever That appears to have fixed things, adding series from TVHE UI now just adds the selected series.  I appreciate that you got that fixed so quickly.

As for the TZ offset, yeah, that was my fault.  I did a complete reset of LE and guess what I forgot to do?  Dummy me was so focused on trying to figure out the issue with the recordings I forgot to set the time zone.

Anyway, from what I can tell everything looks good now.

Thanks.

I have pushed the 0.7.1 update to zap2epg that deals with an error in the episode id number.
This error was causing tvheadend to record all shows on a channel when setting a series recording.

Please update to fix this issue:

I did a new install and the sub channel did not show again when selecting time warner cable Findlay zip 45840. It seems it is only pulling in the basic cable channel lineup.
Not a big deal but thought you might look at
