Just looking for help with setting up my home theatre.
So far I have a:
Synology diskstation NAS (1.5TB of movies and tv shows loaded onto disk)
Mi Home Android TV
I want to make a connection directly from my Synology NAS to the android tv using preferably kodi to read my files.
do I need to input a network available folder share thing and if so will the android tv box be fine in reading or scanning the NAS

Where is Kodi installed?
If you're planning to install it on the TV, perhaps you should check whether this is possible

What are you trying to link to the TV? How do you have Kodi set up?
You said you have a mi box and asked how to link to the TV. Plug in the HDMI cable.

Kodi has built-in support for SMB, NFS, FTP... I take it your NAS will support at least those. I would start with them, in that order.
