 version 0.0.11
- "change channel id" in "re-order channels"

Try this.

There is a "Change Channel id" context menu in the "Re-order Channels" menu.
Press Cancel to revert to the default value.

There isn't any checking for duplicate ids in different xmltv files so beware of that and keep them unique.

[EDIT] 0.0.12 fixes the bug in 0.0.11

@primaeval, you are absolutely fantastic, it is working so well. my next stupid request will be ability to edit the channel name.  lol, some channels have too long names.   bye bye to Webgrabplus.  too complicated for me.

Try 0.0.14. "Rename Channel" in "Re-order Channels".

It's best to make a new post instead of editing one. I don't get any emails for edits so I'll probably miss any new requests in edited posts.

Is there anything obvious in the xmltv.xml file, like duplicate names, ids or missing data?

If you can't see anything post or pm me a link to the file.

@primaeval , I deleted everything  xmltv meld /Tvguide  including their userdata and start all over again unfortunately, the problebm is still  the same, if i point to a xmltv url in the Tv guide everything work as normal but if i choose to use data from xmltv meld (file)  its not working. this work fine before update.

Post a link to the xmltv.xml file.

Does it fail if you don't change any channel names?

@primaeval , after more digging, I realise the problem is from a particular custom url xmltv. it allows change of iD but not change of channels name.  after changing channels name then the problem will start.   It is working well with other custom url  xmltv.   apologies for the misinformation.

here is the culprit  https://bit.ly/2sdaJMT

Is there a special non-ascii character in the channel name?
That might need some extra code to deal with it.

Where does it go wrong?
That file is huge but it still loads in TV Guide Fullscreen and xmltv Meld.

@primaeval ,  it loaded fine for me too even after changing the ids but immediately you change the channel name then it will stop loading in TV Guide Fullscreen. all you get is oops.  i think you are right.  there are some special non-ascii character in the data.  Let us forget it bro, I can live without it.  I will find another good source.

I'd like to fix it if I can. It might come back to haunt me later on if I ever use the same channels as you.
Which channel did you rename and what to?

@primaeval ,  changing of ids cause no problem only channel renaming that cause the problem.

BBC Two HD  renamed to BBC Two HD  102

BBC One    renamed to BBC One Lon  101

that xmltv is one of the most reliable one out there for now.

Those channels don't exist in the epg.xml file link you posted. They must be in another file.

I did get some memory errors for the huge file in the kodi.log file.

I've added in some code that might fix it in 0.0.15.
See if that works or if there are still error messages in the log.
