Beta xmltv Meld - creates a single xmltv file from rytec, zap etc
Are you running Kodi version 18 Leia?
Have you installed busybox and pointed to its location in Settings?
Have you Subscribed to an xmltv Provider in Rytec or koditvepg?
Have you selected at least one Channel in that Provider?
Have you subscribed to a Folder of streams in an addon that matches your Channel?
Does Guess Stream find streams?
Can you select a stream from Channel Stream?
Have you pressed Update?

If you've got this far you should have something like this in your channels.m3u8 file.

Code:
#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="BBC One HD" tvg-id="BBC One HD" tvg-logo="https://images.radiotimes.com/remote/images.atlas.metabroadcast.com/pressassociation.com/channels/p2201211211609.png" group-title="United Kingdom",BBC One HD
plugin://plugin.video.iplayerwww/?url=bbc_one_hd&mode=203&name=BBC+One&iconimage=C%3A%5CKodiSetup-20181016-0f435864-master-x64+iptv%5Cportable_data%5Caddons%5Cplugin.video.iplayerwww%5Cmedia%5Cbbc_one_hd.png&description=&subtitles_url=&logged_in=False&time=1540663569.21

[EDIT] Have you turned on the Kodi web server service?
Are there any error messages in kodi.log?

Thank you for such a fantastic add-on. It works great in windows but i would like to ask you if theres something you could change according to busybox in android.
We need to have root access so that we can point to busybox location but this is something that might break other programs functionality and raise some security risks also.

Thanks. You don't need root access in Android.

You point to a location for busybox kodi has permission to read in Settings.
The addon copies that busybox to the kodi /data/data folder where it does have permission to run and runs it from there.

If you still get problems let me know. It's probably a wrong version of busybox that needs changing.

Just a heads up.  Noticed that some of my channels I've subscribed to from koditvepg were no longer populating info in the guide.  Took a look and I'm fairly certain that they've capitalized some of the channel names which means that those channels now look different and are no longer updating.  I subscribed again to the channels that were changed, updated xmltv meld and then reloaded my guide and all the info is back.

Thanks. If they keep messing around I'll see if I can force everything to lowercase.
I'm surprised these sources have lasted this far to be honest.

Well, it looks like this is the end. They have gone to a paid service and even the most expensive plan only allows listings for up to 5 countries. Too bad. It was the only source I could find for many countries, like Australia and OSN channels.

 That's a shame. I hope I didn't jinx it.
If you've got a non-Android box you could use webgrab++.
My "webgrab configurator" addon makes selecting the channels a bit easier.

I'll have to play around with that and see what I can do. Can it be meshed with xmltv Meld or would I have to use one or the other?

It's odd that they are still calling themselves "koditvepg" now that they have effectively locked out all Kodi users. I guess they get more search engine hits that way.

You'll have to generate the xmltv on your server or box and import in in Custom in xmltv Meld if you want to use rytec or zap too.
I expect you could generate all of it in webgrab if you wanted to. Most of the world is covered.
LibreELEC has the webgrab service built in.

I started making an alternative grabber to webgrab in a kodi addon once but didn't get too far.
I added a couple of grabbers to TVGF.
yo.tv covered most countries but not Australia.
If I could get a few devs interested we could make an official xmltv grabber for kodi.
It's too much work just for me.

So...Webgrab++ looks great but I'm using an Android Box. Would it be feasible to set it up on my laptop and save the generated xmltv file to my Dropbox, then set the epg url in TV Guide fullscreen to the Dropbox share link? Or better yet, could I put the dropbox link in custom in xmltv meld? Would that fully automate the process?

You could do either: make the complete xmltv file in webgrab or merge it in xmltv meld.
To make is simpler I would try to do it all in webgrab on your laptop.
I think you have to do something sneaky with Dropbox to get it to expose the direct url.
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2552397
A simpler solution might be to push it directly to your android box with curl or some kind of automation.
There is an ftp server for kodi somewhere. Have a look on github for service.lan.ftp.

Hello Primaeval.

Thanks again for this add on.  It seems of great value.  I've read thru the posts here but some things are still not clear to me.  Can you help clarify?

Here's my problem, please let me know if this add on would help me out.

I'm using mostly freely available channels with m3u urls.  No paid iptv subscription.  So I have created a custom m3u file which I've uploaded into Pastebin.com
I also created from scratch my xmltv with channels and customized dummy programs in there.   I"m using these two file in your Iptvrecorder plugin without Iptv simple client.  It works fine.

My issue is I have to keep updating the xmltv to add new programs dates/hours.  It's a little of a pain to do.  So it tends to get out of date.  Would this Addon simplify my job by generating somehow  an xmltv for my channels for may be 14 days or more to reduce my need to update all the time.  Again..these channels are online freely available channels with no published Program Guide.  I have to create custom programs with standards block hours....( 2 hours for most of them.  I even did 4 hours to keep it simpler).  I'm looking into something which can even create a shell xmltv with dates and hours to reduce my manual work.  I really don't care much about the duration of programs though I would prefer minimum of one hour and a max of 6 hours.

If this add on may help get me close, how do I go about it.  I still can't really grab the process of using this even after reading and re-reading.
If not do you know any other add on or program which can help me out?

Thank you much. We appreciate your work.

I'm not feeling very well today so I'm not sure when I can help with coding.

I/you could add a loop into the update() function to generate some dummy programs for the dummy channels.
It needs to mimic the programmes loop around line 314.
for programme in xprogrammes:

Are you sure your channels aren't in webgrab++. Most of the planet is covered by them.

You can also record on a timer in IPTV Recorder without needing dummy programmes.
