Send command based on NFO (aspect ratio) data?

So I've been brainstorming for a while about how to handle masking & projector zooming in Kodi. I think they best solution would be able to manually dictate aspect ratio and projector/masking settings for specific movies. So basically, when you play a 2.35 'scope' film, commands would be sent to the projector to adjust zoom and to the masking system to adjust the motorized masks. Anyways is it possible for Kodi to read a movie's NFO upon playback, and send the data regarding the films native aspect ratio to a control system to adjust the projector zoom and mask? There was actually a reference to such a solution here. It seems like someone also came up with an automatic solution a while back, but I think it would be simpler to just manually dictate the aspect ratio for each movie (which also helps avoid issues with variable aspect ratio films). It would be also be ideal to have a platform agnostic solution.

In case you are german, there was a thread at a home cinema forum I used to be where someone got something like that managed using the cinema experience addon and some other tweaks.

Please take a look at: https://www.beisammen.de/index.php?threa...ost1335671

Maybe the code snippets and google translate will help.
