Highlight the entry, select the context menu (via 'c' or your remote), and remove the entry.

Certainly tried that thinking it was the logical way.
However, the context menu refuses to open in this section, works fine everywhere else.
I'm using a keyboard and this is a clean install.
Wondering if it's a corrupted install or possibly an issue with LibrELEC 9.0.1.

In your Userdata folder, there is an xml file named mediasources.xml. Delete the entry out of that file.

I see you've already solved it, but for future info and for anyone else finding their way here. It is likely those smb source paths were created in Kodi File Manager, therefore you need to go into the File Manager section in order to delete those sources.
