Playlist Not Pulling All Media
#1
I recently updated Kodi from 16.x to the newest 18 stable version so I had to recreate one of my Menu options for the skin I'm using Aeon MQ8.
I added Video files from the Files section and labeled it Fitness, they are all showing correctly under Files. I then created a Playlist called Fitness but only some of the video files are showing and I'm using the same path that I used from the first step when I added the video files. All the folders are showing with all the information for each different workout but within each folder, the media is missing for most of the workouts. I set it up the same way as I did with the previous version but for some reason it's not working.

As a side note, I created a second Playlist for my TV Shows media, all media is showing correctly. I set this up because the Fitness section is using TV Shows for the nfo files and I needed to be able to exclude them from showing under TV Shows. This part is working.

Steps taken.

1. Add Videos - all videos show from this area
2. Create Playlist - only some videos appear (Need help with why this might happen)
3. Created Menu - added the playlist as the source for the menu
4. All folders have a .nfo file for each workout labeled the same with all the information needed

So the menu works, the title folder for each workout appears but the media within the workout folders are only there for some of the workouts. I'm not sure why that would happen, hoping for some suggestions on troubleshooting.

After trying everything I could think of, I accidentally stumbled across something that will work. It's not perfect but it'll do until I can find out how to fix the Playlist.

When setting up the custom Menu, I found that I can select Video Nodes and then drill down until I find the Fitness Files section that I added and select that. The only down side is that it shows the name of the workout and the file extension instead of just the name of the workout like I have it setup in the nfo file.

I'm still open to suggestions on what I can try to get the Playlist to show all the media.

Is this a playlist or a smartplaylist ?

If you post the contents of it, maybe someone can point you in the right direction.

I select Playlist > Smart Playlist

When you say post the contents, are you asking for screenshots?

If that's the only way you can do it, then yes.  Otherwise, you can open the playlist in a text editor and just paste the contents here.  Dunno what OS you are using, but on Linux, the playlists are generally located in ~/.kodi/userdata/playlists/video  if that helps any.

When you updated did you do a clean install starting completely from scratch or did you install over the top of v16? as from what you describe with some video showing and other videos in the same source not showing suggests to me you might have hide watched turned on (of course that would only happen if you didn't delete the old v16 install).

I'm using Win10 and I did install over 16. The hide watched is not turned.

If you need me to post something from a file, I'll need some direction with that. Kodi normally just works so I never have to mess with the files.

So, on Win 10 the playlist folder should be at c:\Users\[your-user-name]\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\playlists\video

In there should be some files that end in .xsp - those are the smart playlists. You may need to right click to help windows understand that they are text files and can be opened in notepad.
