Have just created a repeating timer from the webif and it shows the timer in the addon as well. Hmmm... may be something with the API commands? I don't know. BTW: How to add a german grabber to the addon to have nice colored EPG?

Ok, so creating a repeating timer from epg is disabled by default. Due to the fact that an OpenWebIf STB would tend to use autotimers for this purpose.

Maybe I can enable a repeating EPG timer if autotimers are not available. Will take a look at this next week.

Assuming this is doable you will need to be the guinea pig for testing as I don’t have a dreambox.

O.K. Sounds good Thank you for looking at it. What about the German EPG grabber?

On the grabber do you have a sample of your EPG data from the API?

If your provider sends genre ids you will only be able to see that if you use OpenWebIf. Otherwise you need a different method of pulling the genre info.

Such as by text mapping.

Do you see colours directly on your set top box?

And via the webif do you see any text that Contains any genre info?

Maybe post some screen shots.

Hmmm, not sure if "Dokumentarfilm" or so should be the "genre". I would say, no (see screenshot)Image

I'm not sure there is a consistent way to get a genre based on the screenshot. How do you get the EPG data? Is it embedded in the stream or do you download XML?

It comes just together with the stream from the satellites. I'm not downloading anything for it.

Ok, then its possible you have embedded genre data, I just don't know for sure if german providers include it. Thing is the only way to find this out would be to check via a later version of OpenWebIf. Do you know anyone who uses the same provider as you who us running OpenWebIf instead?

Then I could give you an API URL to check and see if the genre info is there. If not then there probably is no point in trying to take it further.

No, unfortunately I don't know no one who is using OpenWebif (O.K. except you ;-) ).
I thought there something like wg++ which is a grabber for TVheadend but if there is nothing I can do to get a colored genre base EPG with this old piece of hard- and software, well I have to accept it.

It should be easy enough to install OpenWebIf on your device. That might be the easiest route. The UI will look different but functionality should be similar and via kodi you should get way more features. I'm sure many DreamOS users have done this previously.

EDIT: It looks like you may need to change image to install the openwebif ipk. So maybe not so easy, sorry. Unless someone has created a recent .deb of openwebif for dreamos.

Allright. Trying to install OpenWebif for my old Dreambox OE2.0 image. Seems not so simple (not a clone etc.).... will give you a short hands up after I'm successfully

O.K. Seems that I could install OpenWebif on the Dreambox. The software runs together with the "old" webcontrol on a different port. And now? EPG looks like still the same.
Could you send me link for the German genre file, please?
