v19 Pluto.TV
(2019-10-09, 17:53)nazzyz Wrote: Has there been any progress on this addon?  I checked on this after powering up my media player this morning and still had the retrieving error when trying to load the stations.
I can see that it looks like the application logs you in when you start up, or at least it says it does when you open it.  That might be just the blurb you mentioned earlier about the nicety of the automatic "welcome back <username> 1" (yes it still does add the 1 after your username) but this might not actually be authenticating your credentials to pluto.tv until you actually highlight and select "Channels/OnDemand/Guide"?
That is where it seems to generate the failure retrieving the channels.  I know the credentials are correct as I went to the actual website on a pc and signed in successfully.  I went back to kodi and cleared out the credentials, restarted kodi, and then re-added them back in - still got the failed to authenticate.
I hope this is useful to you for troubleshooting, this is what I found while scrolling through logfiles:
https://paste.kodi.tv/lihaxakezi.kodi
Hopefully this can be resolved, this is a nice addon to have as part of the kodi player package Smile
Thanks Lunatixz,

Please submit a full log and enable debugging in both Kodi and the Pluto tv plugin. Click on help in my signature for how-to. Thx

Just to chime in here... I use this addon on 2 Raspberry Pi's running LibreElec 18.2.
I too have a problem with a "1" being appended to my username, and it's been that way for quite some time.
If I log into the website using a computer, my username does not have that 1.

The issue I've been having for nearly 2 weeks is I can't access the "Channels" list. It throws and error and tells me to check the log. However, if I go to "OnDemand", I can get in that way. It authenticates. And I can pick and watch a movie that way, but it's a lot more effort to have to do this than to simply view what is playing on the list of channels and pick from there.
I don't ever use the guide, so I don't know if that works or not.

The exact same thing happens on both RPi's. It's the latest version of the addon, it's all up to date, it's just become flaky as of late.

But I just wanted to add my .02 cents about that username+1 thing. That has been that way for me for a long time, way before I started having this issue of not being able to load the Channel list.

Without posting a detailed log you'll most likely continue receiving errors. On the few reports of issues, I've checked to confirm the plugin is working. That's not to say a bug doesn't exist.

As for the "1" I'm not sure if you have read my post regarding it... you'll note it's accompanied by a link to the code.

"1" has no impact on the plugin, and it comes directly from PlutoTV.

Perhaps they use it for some internal reference on accounts which might explain shared issues? Regardless there is nothing I can do about it.

pls post a log. THX

I'm having the same issue as mrsfixit.  I had this problem a few weeks ago and implemented a change you made which corrected the situation.  Now, however, the problem has returned.  I have several Win 7 PCs running Kodi.  All are experiencing the issue.  I have attempted to upload the log to:
https://paste.kodi.tv/copifisahi.kodi
I hope this helps.

I GREATLY appreciate the work you have done to make the Pluto TV addon available.  Thank you.

That attempt was successful. Sadly also your Kodi device has been infested by various add-ons that Team Kodi consider illegal, as they facilitate video piracy in one way or another.

Should you still look for support, then as per forum rules (wiki) (which you accepted), you will have to FULLY clean your Kodi setup, then reproduce your error(s), and provide a new debug log (wiki) file.
If that is a problem for you, then you are encouraged to seek your support outside this forum.

Alright, I'm not sure what you did in the time of my post and just now when I read your reply... but I'm happy at what I found.
I was just in the process of following the instructions you requested when I noticed 1 new update available.  1.1.3 > 1.1.4
So, before I created the logs I figured I would try the updated version first.  Once updated and fired up, I went to "Channels" and there loaded up the channel lineups again.
Thanks for whatever changes you made with the new version, fantastic job looks like the addon is working again!

Can you check to see if the guide works for you.  Unfortunately, nothing has worked for me in the addon.  I get the menu and that's it.

Well, bummer.  Yesterday after the 1.1.4 update was installed, I mentioned the addon was working great again.  I watched a few shows and tried out a bunch of different channels to make sure everything was working and had no problems.  I came in this morning and loaded up whatever show was on the travel channel and it played fine.  When the show ended, the channel stopped playing and pluto threw up the same message as it was doing before when I was on 1.1.3.
Same thing has started again where the addon will load up, greet you, then show the "Channels/OnDemand/Guide" categories.  When I select the channels category, I get the "pluto.tv error - please check the logs" message again.
Scratching my head as nothing was changed from yesterday to this morning.  I turned on debug in the system and in pluto, restarted and captured the log here:
https://paste.kodi.tv/firavejeku.kodi
Looks like the same errors that were showing up in my last post.  Man, I wish I knew what to look for to help out.  I hope you can decipher anything out of this log that will help you troubleshoot, I'll give you any more information that I can if you need.
Thanks again for looking into this.
The addon errors start at around line 1075.  After the restart, I went directly to the pluto addon, opened the interface, selected "channels" - got the error and logged the comments.
Next, I went to "ondemand" where it did display the categories where I selected the first one "featured" - got the error and logged the comments.
Last, I went to "guide" - got the error and logged the comments.

As of now, PlutoTV is not working at all for me.
I can load it, it opens and says hello <username1>.
If I go to Channels, it won't load and throws an error.
If I go to Guide it does the same.
If I go to OnDemand, which previously worked, the page loads. If I select something, for instance Movies- it loads. But when I select a genre subfolder, say Horror, Indies, Documentaries, etc- it shows nothing. The listing is empty. Same with every category and subfolder. There is *nothing* whatsoever listed. All I get is the menu. That's it.
I know, I know- post a log. I will if I have a chance but I have just been really busy and haven't been able to.

It's not showing up for me. Is it publicly viewable?
