Can you post a debug log.

I have taken a debug log of the issue (I think), which log file do you need? It seems to have made a zip file with a bunch of them.  

not sure about a zip file. I would need the one file that says kodi.log

There are only 2 errors I see.
ERROR: DBus error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.freedesktop.UPower was not provided by any .service files
and
ERROR: CMMALVideo::Open : Video codec unknown: ad
and
DEBUG: ffmpeg[9EAAA370]: [hevc] av_rpi_zc_ref: *** Not one of our buffers: NULL
is being repeated mulitply times.
as far as the addons the video is getting sent to the video player the issue seems to be with Kodi its self. Maybe someone else can help out here as i don't have a pi so i am not sure what nor can I trouble shoot the errors.

Are u sure the videos play manually in kodi? because it looks like it is a unsupported codecs

Yep that do play manually and I have been using them to test 4K play. Every now and then when I click a video manually it won’t load, but mostly they work manually.

I’ll set it up to stream again, initially I thought was the issue, loading the stream, so that’s why I switched almost instantly to local. Now that I think about it I would very occasionally get this issue with the original Apple TV screensaver addon with my RPi 3 before I upgraded.

What I am trying to figure out is if it will play them locally (but with manual start) and it will stream them then there is no reason for it to not play them when initiated from the app. If it really is a codecs issue then not easily I can add support to allow pi users to select h264 codec which will only provide 1080 versions. I really dont want to go through the hassle as the next few weeks i am kinda booked up. But if we can determine for sure that they are not playing manually or streaming then i will.

That sounds like a lot of work, please hold off on that while I do some more fault finding myself. I am going to wipe my RPi 4 and start again due to some other issues I’m having with it. I will report back how I go.

@smitchell6879 it looks like wiping my SD and reinstalling Libreelec has worked; as frustrating as that is. It actually solved a few other issues on my RPi 4 too. Tested last night and today, not one issue loading your videos manually or when activated as a screensaver. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for your help, I absolutely love these screensavers!

The latest versions of this addon have made movie playback repeat IE: when a movie ends it starts over, if i disable the addon and reboot and play a movie, at the end it stops as it’s supposed to

@spl147 + @djoole I haven't forgotten but the next few weeks my schedule is really busy and i am not sure how much time i will have to work on it.

spl147 I thought i removed the repeat part. But if i did not then i am going to assume you are using local videos and only have 1 video downloaded as this is the only time repeat should be invoked irc. download a 2nd and see it that fixes the issue for now.

djoole i too want to get this working on the shield, right now i actually am in the middle of getting my home server up and running and keep hitting issues and my spare time at home has went to that instead of testing on the shield. I actually woke up today to 100+tb movie array failing. trying to figure out if it was the controller or the to many drives crapping out at once. So between work and working on that i will have another go at it but it is going to take a little longer.

@smitchell6879 I have now noticed that if I leave the screensaver running it freezes, but doesn’t freeze Kodi; I can exit the screensaver and let it start again when it is ready. Eventually it just freezes up again later. What I did notice however is that the kodi loading symbol appears before it does this each time. I was wondering if it was this sleep function thing people have been talking about in the thread? I cannot find it in the settings to turn it off or on (if that is what it is). I usually like to leave the tv on with the screensaver running when I am home and but not watching tv.

Yes i am using local videos, and i have them ALL downloaded
