@smitchell6879 I have now noticed that if I leave the screensaver running it freezes, but doesn’t freeze Kodi; I can exit the screensaver and let it start again when it is ready. Eventually it just freezes up again later. What I did notice however is that the kodi loading symbol appears before it does this each time. I was wondering if it was this sleep function thing people have been talking about in the thread? I cannot find it in the settings to turn it off or on (if that is what it is). I usually like to leave the tv on with the screensaver running when I am home and but not watching tv.

The power saving things it apart of Kodi normal settings the app just checks for this setting when the screensaver launches it is not a setting in the app. And as far as the freeze again I will need a long to see what is actually happening.

@spl147 + @djoole I haven't forgotten but the next few weeks my schedule is really busy and i am not sure how much time i will have to work on it.

spl147 I thought i removed the repeat part. But if i did not then i am going to assume you are using local videos and only have 1 video downloaded as this is the only time repeat should be invoked irc. download a 2nd and see it that fixes the issue for now.

djoole i too want to get this working on the shield, right now i actually am in the middle of getting my home server up and running and keep hitting issues and my spare time at home has went to that instead of testing on the shield. I actually woke up today to 100+tb movie array failing. trying to figure out if it was the controller or the to many drives crapping out at once. So between work and working on that i will have another go at it but it is going to take a little longer.

No problem smitchell there is no rush.
I hope you sort your NAS problem out!

I have one small request but don't worry if it's not something you want to add - could there be a timeout setting so after x minutes it just displays a black screen?
The reason being I run my Kodi 24/7 but would prefer if it wasn't running the screensaver when I've gone to bed.

Gotcha yeah I need work on that soon and try something different. But your right that setting is not available on the shield. I will keep your request in mind.

I did notice that one file fails to play and stops the screensaver working.

Also if you click to download all videos it ignores what you've already got and re-downloads them all again.

I will look into the one that fails, and as far as re-downloading that is strange. Now it will display them as it goes through checking if you have them, but it shouldn't be downloading them again, unless 1 they never fully downloaded the first time as it compared the size with the website and if it doesn't match it will refetch them. Only other thing i can think of that would cause that would be the download folder being changed.

Ah, that's probably it then - I thought they were being downloaded because of the progress bar.

You can double check just to be sure but if it is checking them then it will basically show the location, video number and it should run through and be done in least then a minute give or take. Unless you have super good internet when it actually downloads for me It will show a slowly climbing progress bar with the est time left until complete. Other then that the check is fairly quick.
