Used Skins not available to other profiles
#1
hi, currently using a Vero 4K and I’ve noticed once a Skin is downloaded through Kodi and installed on one profile, that same skin cannot be downloaded again (via Kodi menus) and used on another profile and isn’t shown as an available skin to download or activate.

I’ve logged into my Verok 4K and can see the skin.xml file in user data.
Does anyone know a work around or fix? Appreciate profiles are a bit broke with Kodi 18 Sad

Go to Settings>My Addons>Look & Feel>Skins and locate your skin there. Activate it.

Perfect, thank you very much!

One last question if I may, I currently have two profiles; Master and Kids. Im currently separating the adult content away from the young kids.
I noticed the skin settings appear to be shared between the two profiles (menu options mainly), is there a way to give the two profiles unique skin settings?

I don't use profiles, but I think that comes down to how you originally added the second profile. During creating there were some choices about transferring settings, or create new settings. Sounds like you transferred settings.

Try creating a new profile as a test which does not transfer any settings.

You should see everything that is normally found under "userdata" is also in the profile (default is in the "profiles/profilename" folder but you can set your own location).  So addon_data, Database, keymaps, Thumbnails etc all are independent.  But when you set up the new profile you can control how much is "copied over" from the master profile.  If the skin settings are not what you want, delete the settings.xml file for the skin in the profile's addon_data folder, and you should get the skin defaults on a restart.

Ive just edited the skin settings on the kids profile but this has also made the same changes to the master profile, is this normal behaviour? It suggests they are sharing the same userdata? Under 'Profiles' directory I only have the one profile (Kids), assume this is not showing the master profile. So best thing to do is for me to create a new 'Adults' profile? Will I be able to hide the master profile from the login screen?
