Stereo only when using passthrough
#1
Hey,

Just upgraded my TV and have a weird issue.

My amp is a bit old now (Sony STR-KM7000) and I found that it wont pass through 4k, so I had to plug my Kodi box directly into my TV's (Panasonic GZ1000) HDMI input. I have an optical cable from the TV to the amp.

I'm running Kodi 18.5 on LibreELEC 9.2.0 on a rockpro64 (RK3399).

Wth the Kodi bx plugged into the amp, I can get surround sound. When playing content directly from the TV (Netflix or DLNA player) I can also get 7.1.

However, when I try to play from the Kodi box my receiver just gets stereo.

I had a look at the logs and can see that Kodi sees 6 channels, so I don't know why this is happening. I've been through the TV settings but can't seem to find aything.

Logs here: http://ix.io/25MW

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers.

The TV most likely only outputs Dolby Digital 5.1 on the optical out, so ensure Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver and Enable Dolby Digital transcoding are selected, and everything else under the passthrough options are disabled.
