The "cdart.png" for album art most likely comes from the add-on "cdART Manager" which was developed long before Kodi standardised the artwork naming convention for the music library. This is quite possibly why it was/is named as such in MediaElch, as that was the closest thing to a "standard" we had at the time.
Since Artwork Beef (Unlike Artwork Downloader) supports music artwork downloading / sorting and support for the "Artist Information" folder, cdART Manager is now essentially obsolete. The other bonus, is that Artwork Beef doesn't hog the UI like cdART Manager, so the user can do other things with Kodi, while waiting for artwork updates for music library content.
The only negative with the Leia music library changes I've noticed, and I don't think this is skin-related, as I've seen this in multiple skins that support the new "discart.png" naming scheme for music, is that discart.png files located in "Disc subfolders" no longer seems to work as before. Kodi only shows the discart.png from the "Disc 1" subfolder, and not from the "Disc 2", etc. subfolders, for multi-disc albums stored in multi-disc subfolders.
