I have an Ubuntu 1910 test rig and am trying to install Kodi but oops I can not configure it to even test if it functional
 
 
I have both a Hauppage WinTV Nova T 500  99101 card
and a WinTV dualHD tuner .

 
can you advise how to configure/use these  tuners with KODI, or point me to where there is help

the guide are not of help, I need step by step [idiot proof]  step to  add the tuners into configuration, scan tuners for station and then to view tv channels available, view these, record program/show, and replay

You need to set up PVR software first as per the guide - https://kodi.wiki/view/PVR

What PVR are you using, I use mythtv  - ( https://kodi.wiki/view/MythTV_PVR ) as the back end and kodi and the pvr addon works ok, but not as good as the mythtv frondend.

There is a step-by-step guide to setting up TVHeadend on LibreEelec here -> https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2315547  As libreelec is linux, all the commands etc should be the same on Ubuntu apart from when actually installing tvh you will need to preface the apt-get command with sudo.

Here is the install video for a DVB scenario https://youtu.be/rcFzblofb-w  like you are using On Ubuntu the difference is you need to pick a frequency list from the dvb-scan tables.  Many old guides and videos are obsolete since they are for the Windows only version.

Here is the install guide for NextPVR https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Setup-Main  Basically just install NextPVR from the deb file and then follow the steps in the video.

I am not sure there is a complete guide to control all the features of PVR in Kodi but the feature are pretty self explanatory once you have the backend installed.
