Kodi Matrix 19.0 HDR AMD Graphics

yes I know exactly how things are done here. But maybe you got something wrong. I have provided exactly the information I wanted to provide.
And I did not ask for help. I provided information that might be useful for your development. By using a PC from the shelf and a clean Windows10 install and the info that a certain Kodi version works and the other not so well but with some trickery. I gave you a that info. Take it or leave it.

You didn't provide any information, just some vaguely written nonsense. It's like finding a needle in a haystack because you refuse to share specifics. How on earth do you expect anyone to take this into consideration for future development?

And for the record, the only reason Fandangos' build is working for you is because it uses Nvidia's private API for HDR and bypasses Windows (which you set up incorrectly). This has since been changed in their latest drivers so you will be forced to switch before long unless you want to keep your system outdated. Fandangos' work is greatly appreciated but Nvidia's new drivers have effectively broken the code.

That is likely the case I'd say. Fandangos builds possible work ok because the Nvidia drivers are ok for their own private API, however support for the public Windows API's may not have matured until much later driver versions. So a refusal to update drivers means never getting drivers that might contain fixes to properly support the Windows API's.

"yes I know exactly how things are done here." Apparently you still don't know how things work here.

"But maybe you got something wrong." But maybe we are not wrong. HDR support in Kodi is still in development, Kodi 19 does not even have an official Alpha release yet.

"I have provided exactly the information I wanted to provide." Well, it's not enough.

"I provided information that might be useful for your development." Might be usefull?!? That's way too vague, and certainly not helpful.

"By using a PC from the shelf and a clean Windows10 install and the info that a certain Kodi version works and the other not so well but with some trickery." That would be nice if only one type of computer would exist on this planet with only one set of software. Too bad for you (and us), Kodi is not involved in a "Alone in this world" scenario. In the real world, there is a sh!tload of differently set up computers for the Windows OS, and you are not the only Kodi user.

"I gave you a that info. Take it or leave it." In that case, good luck with your PC. No kodi log, no kodi problem to solve.

Well that's the first time you've mentioned your GPU and is exactly the reason why more detail was requested from you including debug log.

But I am not going to post it in the forum

I am not interested in your log file, for I'm not your personal assistent, so don't bother PM'ing it to me.
This is a public forum, where all users will attempt to solve each other's Kodi problems.
If that concept is a problem for you, then perhaps this is not the forum for you.

You came to this forum with "a very weird problem". Subsequently you only bothered to provide us with minimalistic as well as useless pieces of information.
And yet...

You are confusing us. What is gonna be?

And I have tried all possible settings related to the player and display within Kodi. And I am not willing to reduce Windows refresh rate or anything related to the color space. That would be nonsense.
And as I said Fandango works without tweaking all that stuff. So it is some internal Kodi matter. The fact that toggeling Fullscreen resolves the problem indicates that as well.
It simple, follow jogals advice and install a portable, clean Kodi installation.

1. Try the settings in the 1st post just like he said.

If that does not work, especially to avoid handshake issues:

2. Try the settings which I posted a couple of days earlier with ycbcr and 422 or 420 (422 is more compatible) and Kodi in limited colorspace - report back

Edit:
Look at my post a week or so earlier. Your GPU should work just fine with the current GPU settings and drivers. Some TVs don't like RGB so as I said try ycbcr, if that works then work your way to the preferred settings and look where it breaks

Edit 2:
When I remember correctly desk mini hdmi 1.4 only, so you might be better off with ycbcr instead of RGB to avoid handshake and bandwidth issues

Maybe you missed it, but I reported a few posts ago, that I always start with a portable Installation so that versions don't get confused.
I tried all sorts of settings, probably all possible settings, including the ones from the first post.
And I am not so keen on reducing the colorspace, but I'll give it a try.

It's a ASRock DeskMini A300 with an AMD Athlon 3000G. So HDMI 2.0
And again: no issues with Kodi-Matrix.Fandangos.HDR.06.23.2020.2120.python3.x64
No need of any driver tweaking

There is something wrong with your setup or TV, because you should be able to playback HDR (expect Netflix, see link). If you want help we need logs! Are you using illegal add-ons and that is why you wont provide us the logs?

Look, I wrote that a couple of times now, I have no issues with playing HDR content from my Deskmini to my TV in general. Please read my posts.
And no I have no illegal addons installed. There are lots of references to my media library in there which I am not willing to share publicly.

From https://www.anandtech.com/show/14251/asr...n-minipc/7

"By default, the DeskMini A300 drives a YCbCr 4:4:4 signal to the display in HDR mode. This is in contrast to the sub-samped (4:2:2 or 4:2:0) formats used by other GPUs. 4:4:4 ensures that the desktop doesn't have any chroma sub-sampling artifacts leading to fuzzy display of text content. The Readeon Settings application allows for easy configuration of any desired pixel format. We were also able to configure a RGB 4:4:4 full level signal (0-255) in the HDR mode."

I have zero interest in helping this person but there may be others Ryzen users who can benefit from this information.

(I mean normal people who don't refuse change settings from Graphics control panel "other layers" and update video drivers)

Stop twisting my words, Einstein, as you said in full I can always send you a logfile if you are interested. The operative words being 'send you'.

I suggest you stop posting to this thread as you contribute nothing and you already annoyed enough other users.
Create your own thread on your AMD setup should you still need support. This here is a Windows-based thread.

I've split of the rant that you started, now you can ask for support all you want on your AMD Kodi device.
