The UI is twinkling while playing a video
#1
Kodi is running in a QNAP 453bmini NAS, and I install kodi from https://www.qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/873.
The CPU of 453bmini is J3455, and system version is Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS (Linux 4.14.24-qnap)

Kodi version is 18.8.0 Git 20200728.

If I play a video, The UI is twinkling, include subtitles, UI, and buttons.
I also tried kodi 19-alpha, and they are same.

Any suggestions?

Once I turn the display mode from full screen to Window, the problem will be solved.
However, every time I open the Kodi, Kodi always uses the full screen mode. So I have to go to the settings and turn it to window mode.

Team Kodi did not compile that build for the QNap NAS devices.
So whatever beef you have, you will need to contact QNAP itself, or whoever created it for QNAP.

See Klojum's signature line as to how, but posting a log file *might* net some responses that could be helpful.  Otherwise, there isn't much to go on.

Yes, I understand Kodi might not have official support for QNAP.
I opened the debug log option, and I got a 300KB+ log file.
It is too large, so I put it in Pastebin.

Hope someone can fix it.
I also took a video, if you need it, please let me know.

Thanks.

I paste my log file at:

I understand my Kodi is an unofficial version so I might not be able to get support from here.

Well, for your question, I don't know when do QNAP starts running Ubuntu on their x86 products.
As I said, my NAS is QNAP 453bmini, and its CPU is J3455 with an HDMI port.
I believe QNAP changed very less on Ubuntu. They use crontab, use standard Linux raid manager -- mdadm, use bash, and they offer docker on it.
All things are familiar, so I guess this bug might happen on other Ubuntu devices.

May I please take your time to have a look at the log file?
I tried Kodi 18.1 18.8 and Kodi 19.0 beta version. All of their UI and sub-titles are twinkling while playing. The log file is generated by Kodi 18.8 as you see.

Thanks for your reply.

While they are using ubuntu they do use a CUSTOM kernel Linux x86 64-bit version 4.14.24-qnap

Assuming they (qnap) or the packager did not touch Kodi code the problem you are having is with high probability related to in-kernel drivers or mesa gfx stack.
Report the issue to qnap support, they sell the product thus they have to provide support for it.
