I re-scanned with NextPVR. Got 114 channels. Saved the EPG Update. Started Kodi... channels started updates... took quite a while.
If I select 5.4 I get video & audio. Selecting 5.5, all I get is the channel info... no video/audio.
The right frame of Channel list seems to show the progress bar, next show title, etc... only thing missing is the blue play bottom (just to the left of the large time display).
Any ideas on what I have to do to get this fixed?

First you always need to post your Kodi debug logs according to the forum rules.  Hopefully a mod will move this to the NextPVR sub forum by the time you are able to provide those.

Sorry to be a problem... I'll search elsewhere... other solutions...
btw, I just cranked up a old Win7 box with WMC and channels that did not come in with Kodi came in...
