I keep having network related problems with playback, particularly easy to reproduce using the music player’s Party mode. Enable party mode and skip to the next song until the player goes all wonky and refuses to play anything. It just keeps scrolling through the list until I use the X key to stop it.
This is what repeats in the log in that situation:

The NAS is online and no problems accessing it. I switched to NFS shares today to test, but it’s as bad as SMB.
Is there anything I could do to make it work better? I have a big library and it would be nice to be able to skip songs as needed. The same issues are probably causing problems with playback of videos from a share (not added to library) over the network sometimes..if there are a lot of files in the same folder, playback just doesn't start sometimes.

I've already posted in the CoreELEC support forum yesterday but no replies. This could be something directly Kodi related though.

Posting something elsewhere because there is no reply within 24 hours is a bit bold, IMHO. Next time, it'll be within 12 hours?
Just like at CoreELEC we are unpaid volunteers. We'll reply when there is enough spare time in our personal lives.

To be fair, I've reported similar issues related to playback (unable to start playback or crash when resuming) there earlier without getting much feedback. That is why I was considering that the issue could be more related to Kodi itself than the OS.

I am still having this issue. Last night it appeared after I had watched one movie, then tried to watch another..

I get this stuff in the normal Kodi log. Which items should be checked in the debug log to find out what is causing it? It is very, very irritating because I know that the NAS itself works fine. The only way to make the media player work after the issue occurs is a reboot.
