I should note you can map a button to use the windows o/s 'windowed mode' (if you have that o/s up) which will exit the full screen to a configured smaller window with drag bar and back again, to enable other desktop functions.

I am building a Linux based OS called Doors. The tagline will be "when one door closes another one opens".

I am therefore looking to avoid using OS centric features and I am looking to make a nice native and modern kodi skin instead. I will be more than happy to share the skin with everyone as I love the spirit of kodi and I think that kodi really deserves a new and amazing skin.

Now I just need to figure out if a whole full screen video can be moved off screen.

Yes it can, you could simply set the posx/posy to be positioned outside the dimensions, i.e for 1080p you could move it to posx 2000. Probably not the most elegant solution but it would work.

Awesome! By the looks of it, if I understand everything correctly, I would have to make a kodi addon that will draw a "videowindow" ontop of the whole screen. In that case I will be able to animate the window in anyway I like, and perhaps achieve the effect I am looking for. Perhaps the video window can be integrated into the label of a skin (like a widget).
