I haven't noticed Skin Helper errors since updating to v1.1.32. I'll keep an eye out though.

Unfortunately, even with the new version (Skin Helper), I am constantly getting Kodi crashes and nothing is being written to the logs why. I thought the update fixed it, but a day later, it is back to its old habits.

It took 20 minutes of Kodi crashing and going back into Kodi to get to the TV series today.

When selecting a Series, I always use the down key to show the alphabet menu to get quickly to the specific series. What I have now found with this version under Kodi V19, once I select the Letter from the alphabet menu, on top of the screen is says BUFFERING then 20-30 secs later, Kodi crashes. I have never seen Buffering come up before (in v18.9 and the MQ8 mod, it worked perfectly).

All my files are local on the Media PC HDD, so it is not streaming from a NAS and also, I only use local artwork, so I just don't understand why the buffering is coming up.

I also found not using the Alphabet Menu and selecting the Series by scrolling through each one, then selecting a Series, then selecting a Season, I didn't get any Skin Helper Error (shown on the top of screen) until I got to the episode. However, all artwork is displayed fine.

Any ideas on what to look at since the debug log isnt recording what crashed it?

Menu things are fixed in shs for Matrix....for tvshow, I fixed and add tmdb scraper for tv show.When you have fresh install of kodi shs have inicial time to colect and write all info for library, top250 imdb, and missing art.In that time I suggest to wait some time before use kodi if shs write file in data.db and you force some action(scroll, fast changing item), kodi will colaps....crash.
Be pation, wait some time to shs finish initial collect of info.

I understand it processes when first loading Kodi (I dont run it 24/7) as i make sure to have the update info shown at the top of the screen, but how long to wait? To test, I waited 2 hours (left the PC running) and it still crashed as soon as I went into TV Shows. I did try to go slow, and managed to watch several episodes of a season (eventually) and as soon as I hit the back button to go back to the Seasons display, it showed the several seasons with artwork, background image, etc, then  Kodi crashed.

The system I am using is ubuntu 20.04, running on an i7 3.4ghz with 8GB memory, with SSDs. Surely, the writing to the DB should not be a bottleneck.

I never had the issues with V18.9 running Aeon MQ, although, now and again, I would see the Buffer message, but it wouldnt crash Kodi.

I understand this is a works in progress and I dont mind trying things to find the root cause, but the system is unusable in this current state. I'm thinking to start fresh, but then we wont be any the wiser to why the crashing (if only the logs recorded something, but that just shows how hard the crashes are).

Hi @Angelinas , presuming the response was for me... Thanks.. As previously mentioned (you might have missed my previous posts), I have the debug log enabled and nothing is being written to the log when Kodi crashes which is making it hard to pinpoint the crash.

Aeon MQ 8 Matrix Mod v1.0.0.7 for Kodi v19 "Matrix"

The skin is available via my Matrix repo located at https://holybid.com/kodi/repo/matrix.

There are some areas that are not functional yet...still waiting on some Add-ons to be updated for Matrix.

A few notes...

• The skin includes the latest updates that were posted in the Aeon MQ 8 Multi-Mod thread.
  
• To access the skin themes, install Aeon MQ Skinthemes. (Not necessary if you have already installed the Aeon MQ 7 Matrix Mod)
  
• To access the color options in Skin Settings, install the Skin Helper Colorpicker Add-on via my repo. You will also need to install the new Skin Helper Service...read next bullet. (Not necessary to install Colorpicker if you have already installed the Aeon MQ 7 Matrix Mod)
  
• Before installing the Skin Helper Service, install my repo as well as the newest version of the Cherrypy script.
  
• The Skin Helper Service is not 100% yet...it continues to be updated for Matrix.
  
• I'm still working on a Matrix version of the Library Editor script. (Script is now working...download below)
  
• TVTunes for Matrix is available on my repo. There is still a problem with the video themes not stopping once they begin to play and you select another Movie.
  
• The Video Info screen will now display Sets info. There is still room for improvement with this new feature of the skin.

Hi Guys!

I am very upseet, because I use Kodi in my Sony Bravia KD-65XF85 as a downloaded (android) application.
Yesterday evening I want to watch movie and started the program and the automatic update was beginning and Kodi 18.9 Leia went to 19.0 Matrix.
I used and configured with a lot of hard work Aeon MQ 8 skin and it was broken and the 19.0 loaded the default skin.
I cannot download MQ8 to the TV, it is unavailable, onyl just Aeon Nox Silvo and Aeon Tajo... :/

Anybody can help me what is the solution?
- Is Aeon MQ 8 skin will be avaliable or the new MQ 9 maybe?
- If not,, how can I reinstall the Kodi update to get back Kodi 18.9 leia? Unfortunately there is no option in the app manager in the setup or Google Play.
- In the Kodi is there any chance to reinstall the update from ver. 19.0 to 18.9?

I want back my favourite skin it is terrible to use Kodi without it... :///

The exact same thing happen to me this evening.  I'm running Kodi on an nVidia Shield.  I hate the fact that I can't revert back to the older Kodi using these app stores.  I'm also now stuck with the latest Kodi version without my favorite skin - Aeon MQ 8.  Any help is appreciated.

@Angelinas  - I captured a Debug log again, the last line is all that is in the log, meaning Kodi Crashed and didn't write anything. Looks like the problem is occuring when Skin Helper Service goes to load the Extranfanart.

Have you extendedinfo script?
I think extendedinfo and shs combination crash yor kodi.
Extendedinfo script have download thumb for cast...
Try to remove code for shs widget or cast info

HI! On tablet i have installed the theme but when has finish all process the theme is stuck on movie section. Whatever option i chose it will open movie. I change to default editing guisettings.xml and try again but still the same issue occur. I have installed the theme directly from repo.
