A newbie question,

But where is all the skin configuration, including submenus stored on an android box? What do I copy over to another android box? Backup addon fails me every time...

For me on my shield tv they are in the following folder:

/internal/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data

There you have to copy these three folders:

script.skinshortcuts (home menu)
script.skinvariables (custom viewtypes)
skin.arctic.horizon (skin settings)

This is an amazing skin but have one question. It is no longer showing background posters on this screen for any movies. It displays movie title, ratings, clear art but no background poster. Any ideas?

On the Main Menu where the widgets are located, near the bottom, there is the day/date/year and under that there is a info logo with my Shield TV ip and the Arctic Horizon current firmware number. Is there a way to change or remove the info under the day/date/year?

No there isn't, it's just a placeholder for where there is no info. Although if you update to the latest git version there should be just one line with no date on there.

I have two Shield TVs so after setting the first one up with Arctic Horizon I set the second one up the exact same way. All the same boxes checked and unchecked and the same black background set as the fallback image. I also set the same black background for each shortcut on the Main Menu. On one Shield TV, on the Main Menu, the background is black and I can see the Menu title, clock/weather and at the bottom the day/date/year I wanted to remove. On the second Shield TV, on the Main Menu even though I am using the same black image on all the shortcuts, the Main Menu isn't the same. The background isn't really black. It looks more like when the busy loader is running. Like my black image with some kind of filter over it and the day/date/year at the bottom of the screen is gone. How do I have two different results with the same settings and how do I make one like the other?

Have been playing with this great skin. I have come across the same problem as this. I don't use widgets on some of my menu options. When I don't use a widget, I get the date (see above pictures) as well as the Kodi and skin info. I can delete the Kodi and skin version info but can't delete properly delete the date.

I noticed that the date option is in the file "script-skinshortcuts-includes.xml". When I delete the relevant item "$INFO[System.Date]" and load the skin, there is no date. However the skin then does a shortcut update and the date is back. I have deleted the "$INFO[System.Date]" in other files I have found but doesn't solve the problem.

Reading the forum, I gather that I can't edit "script-skinshortcuts-includes.xml" so how can I get rid of the date. Am I missing a setting or do I need a widget.

There's a setting in the skin to turn auto-scrolling on or off... No hack required

I know, and I have it permanently enabled but it doesn't work if there's more than one widget per home menu item present. I think somewhere in the forum or at Github it was described as by design - therefore my question.

And it's easy to check - as soon as I add an additional widget under the first, auto-scrolling stops.

If I use the global search, "tubed" is used as youtube search but that addon doesn't work for me. Can I change it to the youtube addon?

My favourites wall has somewhat imperfect masking. On the right side, a tiny portion of background wallpapers isn't covered. If I use a bright wallpapers it can get quite ugly due to the thin vertical line. Anyone experiencing this? Anyway to fix this?

That's because you do not set any home widget, say by title or recently added. Once set, you also may choose to display info or simply display posters

I manage to display my favourites content on home using skin helper service widgets. Is there a way to display the items vertically say with 5 posters per row?

hi, the needed changes are in skin.arctic.horizon\1080i\Font.xml.
you need to copy font files into skin.arctic.horizon\fonts and reference them in the mentioned Font.xml.
you can use this as reference, it works for me (don't forget to backup the file you replace):

However I am not sure whether it is Kodi or whether it is the skin that assigns (movies), (tvshows), (seasons) etc. I have noticed sometimes it gets it wrong so that some tv seasons can 1 viewtype and another tv seasons gets another. With other skins including Arctic Zephyr, all the viewtypes are available and you can free to choose different viewtypes even if they belong to the same library category.

Is this due to the skin variables helper script?

Is there a way to assign whatever viewtype you want and not be restricted?
