I need a parental control stuff to restrict the watching time of my kids...
I searched and found nothing in the forum.. no addons seems doing this as well.
Am I wrong?
I could build my childs a profile and their own library ( IMHO there should be some sorting option by age rating)..
It's so nice that my childs want to watch movies all day long! I really need to control their screen time.

I wanted to first ask here, then maybe ask at 'feature request', and i already learn how to do it myself if it is the only solution.. this would really be fun for me.. but kodi is quite big, and I think devellopers are too busy to learn me the bases...

But i am really lost, the dev is too vague to me... it would take age for me to build what i need without any help.

With millions of users, yes that would be a correct assumption. The online wiki's 'linked top left of each page', is the online user manual and then of course there's this forum to support some of those pesky issues.

Using Smart playlists/Rules and groupings (wiki) you should be able to tease out 'G'eneral ratings. But I would delegate all my childs content to select folders, and use the path rule in a children's profile. All this effort is done from the user GUI, point & click effort, shouldn't make this a big deal. As regards to restrict the watching time of kids, you could always put a physical timer on the power plug but in truth I see no need for restrictions (or censorship) to help a healthy mind to grow.

Point and click... Regarding my kodi level.. yes that's where i am... 😁 I just found out how to build movies librairies a few days ago.( In maybe 5 years of use)..

For the basics: it's ok, I should read the f***ing manual. But for dev project, I am just not ready, sorry.. with the only infos I could gathered on a potential player counter, I don't really know where to start, it's like if I had to solder a keyboard first then begin to code on notepad! 😋

Off toend of your message you told about censorship...erh... But after I noticed you talk about a healthy mind... You just don't know my child's! 😁 So that don't apply! 😉
No, seriously the screen time is imho important.. they can tolerate some action of chocking scenes bit only if the rest of the day they can talk about that, and I think it can help if they are forced to pause a few... In winter for example, they are not going out so they can be all day in the sofa watching paw patrol if I don't stop them!
About the plug, my tv have this timer function like a lot.. but if they want to use kodi for something else like music, or if they paused a lot the player, this would be unfair... And too much strict, what I don't want.. ( it's just that.. I have really too few power on them.. no, not healthy too, lol.) And as a kodi option, it could reseted.automaticly maybe at midnight or by a pin code... I don't care if they watch dozens of short episodes on the day or 2 full movies .. even if I would prefer just one movie in absolute..
