Kodi 19.4 running on LibreELEC 10.0.2

Following instructions on how to create a Movie Set Information Folder - MSIF (https://kodi.wiki/view/Movie_set_information_folder) without success.
- Files are on a Windows machine with fixed IP
- Folder on which MSIF folder is to be created is shared
- Windows user that LibreELEC uses for access has Full Control permission, granted through Windows security setting
- Communication using SMB working fine: movies are played, nfo information, posters are displayed
However, when I try to create the folder (by entering smb://192.168.1.100/VIDEOm/KODI_MSIF/), a Kodi error window appears:
Couldn't create folder
Make sure the selected folder is writable and that the new folder name is valid

I have no problem using the New Folder option. The folder was created across the SMB share.
Try creating the folder outside of Kodi first, then browse to it and select it.

In fact, I had already tried that: creating the folder on the Windowsw machine, then entering its path - no way.

How to browse a network folder from Kodi?
It's possible to browse local folders (Home folder, Root filesystem) but how to browse Windows network (SMB)?
If I hit the Windows network line (the last one on the list), next there are only three buttons: OK | Cancel | New folder
Hitting OK and Cancel don't lead me to a list; hitting New folder a keyboard appears which allows me to enter a path (then comes the error window).

The difference between you and me is that you are using LibreELEC, so there might be some differences there.
Is Kodi installed on a Windows PC, or some other hardware?

LibreELEC browse window does not list available shares - there's nothing there to be chosen.
So it seems that there may be some issue regarding LibreELEC implementation.
Note that LibreELEC doesn't run on Windows; it's a self-standing Linux-based implementation.
