Solved Video is blue and there is no sound.

Hey all, thanks in advance. I've been using Kodi since the original xbox on dozens of different devices and I've never had this happen. Kodi is unusable.

0. Log file is HERE : paste.kodi.tv/xolefuqucu

1. There is no audio at all. When Kodi is running ALL system audio in all apps dos not play (even ALT+TABing to another running application, there is audio in anything). When KODI is stopped, PC Audio comes back through the TV screen

2. I've set AUDIO to DIRECTX DEFAULT and DIRECTX SAMSUNG HDMI to no avail

3. GPU is AMD 5700xt with latest WHQL drivers installed

4. There is no red anymore. Seems as though reds have been replaced with blue - see below screen shot of a law and order episode featuring Poppa Smurf:

Please any help you can give me would be so appreciated. I'm almost ready to buy a firetv stick or something.

it almost seems as if the video cable isnt transmitting all the color signals. From what I gather from your post this only seems to be withing kodi? and not  any other video  output from your system?

The issue is only within Kodi, everything else on the PC runs perfectly fine. I even validated the source videos that I pull from a media server by playing them with VLC and VLC plays them no problem.

Also maybe worth noting that I've been running Kodi on this machine as my daily media machine for years and this issue just happened the other day.

Sorry king I wasn’t sure if this forum was the best place to post this problem or if it’d be better under the windows forum.

Looks like you're trying to play an HDR video. Post a full debug log please.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

TYVM for the reply. Here's another debug log captured following your direction:

Oddly enough, sound has returned but videos are still all blue.

Thanks again.

Is it necessary to have windows hdr enabled to watch hdr capable videos I’ve never had to before but I’ll try turning it on.

Post the video information of the file using something like MediaInfo as I think you'll find it's a Dolby Vision format. HDR10 should be fine though.

Thanks.

So I did enable HDR in Windows 10 both for colour management and for streaming videos". Restarted Win 10 to make sure the changes took effect which they did.

Started Kodi and played the same video to no avail, everyone was still smurf blue.

Interestingly enough I have 3 other Kodi instances running at home (another Win 10 on a cheap monitor, an android box and an amazon fireTV stick) and all three of the other devices play the video fine without the blue.

It's also not isolated to just the 1 one file but to hundreds of videos on my media server.

Could it be the video card? AMD Radeon 5700xt? But I have no issues watching the vids using VLC... I'm stumped.

"It seems it was an issue where Windows Update installed an alternative graphics driver. Removing that fixed the problem."

Also same that https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid3115555
