v20 frequent video freezing after seek
#1
After updating kodi nexus to beta1, I've experienced frequent video freezing after seek when playing Netflix.
This problem was not happening with inputstream adaptive 20.2.3(kodi nexus alpha3).

How can I install inputstream adaptive 20.2.3 in kodi nexus beta1 ignoring dependencies?

Or let me know if there's any other way to avoid video freezing after seek in kodi nexus beta1.

I have too issues like this with YouTube addon on Kodi 20 beta 1. Seeking is almost impossible without play/pause pressing on the remote (for resuming normal operation). Videos are set to maximum resolution: 4K in Inputstream Adaptive Addon, with no bandwidth limitation.

Does seek mean x2 x4 x8 x16 playback speed etc. or do you mean skip forward 5 10 30 60 etc. seconds?

Both after fastforward and after time step seek, I am experiencing video freezing.

...Skip forward a few seconds. I don't watch movies at upper speed. Videos freeze (no new frames, no nada). Kodi interface and remote stay responsive and if you press pause and then play, playback is resuming with normal speed.

Would either of you be able to open an issue at https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.adaptive and include a kodi log with debug logging enabled? Also will need device details.
Majide - is this also a problem in 20.3.1 but not in 20.2.3?

Before posting here I googled about this problem and found this report already confirmed but unsolved.(https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.adap...1377037629)

@masonlee @Majide  I'm trying to look at this now and can't reproduce using youtube on my pixel 3.

But I think I might have isolated where the code change between 20.2 and 20.3 that may be the cause of this. Could you please try installing a test inputstream.adaptive build from here?: https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio...artifacts/

It is most likely the Android aarch64 zip that you want.

@glennguy Your test builds works. No freeze afterseek. Since I don't use Youtube addon, I've tested with Netflix streams on my shield tv. Many thanks.

For me it was isolated case (only for one day). After updating Kodi 20 Nightly & IA & YouTube addon, now there is no such problem with freezing.

Thanks for the quick response guys

@masonlee if you upgrade to Kodi 20 nightly do you still experience this with the unmodified IA 20.3.1 from the Kodi repo?

@glennguy
Updated to kodi 20 latest nightly and uninstalled your test build IA and installed IA 20.3.1 from the kodi repo.

Within 3 mins I've experienced several video freeze afterseek. So I removed IA and installed your test build. No freeze at all with the test build.
