Release Stremium (Locast, Philo, Spectrum, FrndlyTV, Sling TV, Vidgo)
#31
@boxcar32: I was able to get it updated to the older version, and that completely stopped the freezes during a show. Unfortunately, it still freezes when some ads start. The only way I've found so far to work around that is to just hit stop and restart the stream again until the next ad starts.

@matthuisman: Is there any way to prevent the stream from freezing at the beginning of an ad? This is with Stremium running Philo on a Raspberry Pi 4 on Kodi 19.4.

Stremium also freezes during live tv or dvr on my firecube also, so I suggest the issue is with stremium and not the add on

I was looking up info on this problem, and found your IA github issue. It sounds like it may not be exactly the same problem as you are discussing there. If I'm reading your issue post correctly, it sounds like you have a small pause when an ad is injected into the stream on your Channel 7 addon. In my case, the Philo stream running through the Stremium addon will totally and completely lock up and won't ever come back until I manually stop the channel and restart it again. I've let it sit for about a half-hour and the freeze never ended until I manually stopped it. This happens at every ad break, both going from the show into the ad time, and coming out of the ad time back into the show after the restart. Is this consistent with the IA problem, or is this something else?

Interesting! Unfortunately, I don't have any other way to test this problem other than Kodi. When it freezes on your firecube, is it completely freezing up at the beginning and ending of *every* ad break, to the point that you have to stop the stream and restart it every time to keep watching? That's what I'm seeing on the addon.

Yes it is mainly on ad breaks that it freezes

Hello,

Stremium is no longer playing content from Sling.  I see "Playback failed" or something similar when I try to play a sling channel.  I logged onto Stremium's website and confirmed that I can play sling content in there.  I even deleted sling as a provider, made sure that the Stremium addon saw that it was gone, added Sling back as a provider, and reset the Stremium addon so it would see the new provider, but still not getting the content.

Please find error logs here.

Pastebin

Thank you

@matthuisman

I see that the Stremium addon was updated to v.0.1.7.  So, I tried my Sling channels.  I'm sorry, but I still get Playback Failed.

Please find new log here:  Kodi log

Thank you

I have an issue that's been plaguing me for months.  Certain Stremium channels seem to buffer a lot and hang. Some times I can stop play and the start again and they work fine for a while, other times  everything hangs so bad that I have to reboot the machine to free it up.

I use a RPi4 LibreElec  11.0.3, (kodi 20.2).  Stremium, Sling, NPVR (over the air) and IPTV to merge everything together.

I've watched the channels in question on Stremium and never had an issue.  I also watched a couple on their native websites that offer streaming.  Again, no issue.  A couple of day's ago, I was trying to watch a sports channel, and the caching was so bad that the audio/video got way out of sync and there was nothing I could do to keep it in sync.

I attempted to post the debug log in the paste.kodi.tv link, but not sure if it saved or not.

Thank you
