Definitions of fanarts and covers
#1
Hello everyone,

1. Do you know which is the native definition at which Kodi downloads covers and fanarts ?

2. Do you know if it will one day be possible to personalize them directly from the Kodi interface ?

3. For those who have modified the advancedsettings.xml file, what are your best settings for a 4K TV ?

4. What about these settings?
Quote:<advancedsettings>
<imageres>1080</imageres>
<fanartres>1440</fanartres>
</advancedsettings>

Thanks !

You can use "Choose Art" from the Information page to change artwork

Thanks §
But setting too high a definition wastes disk space, and uses a lot of GPU; this is why I rather ask for the "optimal" definition, and not "maximal". TMDB contains covers up to 3000 x 2000 pixels, which exceeds the 2160 x 3840 of a 4K display on the vertical axis. In addition, the covers are never displayed in "full screen". I imagine that the optimal must therefore be around 1500 x 1000 pixels? What do you think ?

To be honest, I've never given it much thought. I use Windows pc's, so storage is not a problem for me.
Others will need to advise on their experience.

I understand, thanks. On a PC there should be no limit. On a low consumption box, it's very different.

imo if there were a perfect setting for everyone then there would be no need to even have the setting for a user to configure
the settings exists to allow each individual user the opportunity to find what works for their own setup
