v19 Video ScreenSaver
Am I the only one that can't manage to use this on Kodi 20 for Windows?

Was the folder you're trying to access added as a video source in Kodi?

Yes, I did that after you asked and reported back. Check my post of March 8th, where I state that I even tried portable mode. And the post of March 2nd, where I wrote "I did that".

I understand; had to ask again to clarify. I've tested multiple sources since we last chatted and they all seem to work. Do you have my beta repo installed? looking at some of your older logs you are running v.1.0.9 and the latest is v.1.1.3a.

I am going to try the latest version. Also, to clarify, I wasn't annoyed by you request for clarification. I simply wanted to communicate that I try my best as a diligent user, so if you ask me for something I try to do it. Thanks for your answers, your time and your development. I will report back.

No problem... I hope we can get things working for you!

Ok. Installed your beta repo. Uninstalled the stable version of the addon, installed the latest 1.1.3a.

Ran in portable mode, added a directory as a video source (content nothing, it's a collection of videos I want to use as screensaver; I even tried adding it as music videos but it doesn't change the result).

Here's the debug log: https://paste.kodi.tv/ibarajakeg.kodi

For some (to me) mysterious reason it seems that the plugin can't access the directory. See line 795 in the log
It's in a rclone mount. The same videos are played back by Kodi with absolutely no problem, from the same source, same directory, everything identical.

EDIT
Same exact result even with files loaded in a local directory (added as video source). So I don't think rclone is in any way to blame (it works flawlessly for the whole rest of Kodi, after all).

I get the same:

2023-03-28 00:06:35.968 T:10500   error <general>: JSONRPC: Failed to parse '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Files.GetDirectory","params":{"directory":"C:\Local screensaver\","media":"video","sort":{"ignorearticle":false,"method":"random","order":"ascending"},"limits":{"end":100,"start":0}},"id":1}'

Note the local directory on C:\

EDIT 2
As a last resort I tried adding all files from the video screensaver folder to a playlist. I saved it. It got saved to:
C:\Users\ashlar\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\playlists\videoScreensaver 2.m3u.
I then tried to use a Video playlist for the screensaver but navigating to that directory produced nothing. It doesn't see the .m3u file.

I hope that, with a clear error now on display, we can get to the bottom of it.

Please try v.1.1.3b and let me know if this fixes your issue. THX

As far as the loading of videos is concerned yes, it does!

There's another problem, though. If the player is set to switch refresh rate/resolutions at video start, once the screensaver kicks in it asks if the user wants to save the resolution (I suppose that's the main Kodi engine doing it).
In the log I attach, the screensaver video is a 1920x1080 at 30fps. If I select no, it hiccups a little and then it starts. But if I select yes, it starts but when it exits the whole Kodi is set at 30fps. And one needs to edit manually guisettings.xml to fix that.

Ideally one ought to be able to decide whether to switch refresh rate for the screensaver. I, for instance, use only 30fps videos, since they're multiple of 60 or 120 (the two refresh rates I use, mainly 120 for it's buttery smoothness). But for sure the screensaver shouldn't be asking to save a resolution/refresh for the whole Kodi, considering that's not what VideoPlayer does when it switches refresh rate and/or resolution for playback.

I remain available to test whatever you need. Thanks for looking into this, it's much appreciated.

Log: https://paste.kodi.tv/gohiwewiji.kodi

EDIT: wanted to add, in case it wasn't clear, the window asking if one wishes to switch resolution stays on screen until an answer is provided by the user. Which kinda turns this into a screen "destroyer", not a "saver".

But is it like this just for me? Is any of my settings creating that problem?

Are you running Kodi in window mode? Switch to Fullscreen.
