hello Guys! I backup the settings theme but when i tried to restore i get "Restore the skin settings o%  and your backup is successfully restored!" But when i press ok setting wont restore.

@marius37bv Where are you storing the backup zip files? I save mine set to backup to my NAS and I have found that the unzip won't work if you try to restore directly from the zip file on the NAS. In order to get it to work I needed to copy the zip file to storage directly on my streaming device (Nvidia Shield in my case).

In order to use your NAS you need to go to (in Kodi) File manager --> add source --> Browse --> add network location. You can there add either or both Samba and NFS shares.

You can disable the splash screen so that your video is the first thing displayed on startup. Open advancedsettings.xml and add this...

Now when you open Kodi, it will start with the intro video you selected in Skin Settings.

And skin backups write the zip files to my NAS with no issue. The only thing that doesn't work is doing the Import when it has to unpack the zip file. I get around that as I described by just copying the zip file to local storage before doing the restore.

@latts9923 I wonder if it has to do with where the fanart images are stored. I use a custom location for my artist fanart images. Either way, I guess the best is to just use what works...

@wags1 That is strange as I have fairly similar setup and I do not have any issues with unpacking zip files.

@andrzejls It is very strange. I literally have no other problems except for the skin import. To be clear it’s not a general problem with unpacking zip files. It’s only an issue when doing a import, which uses the Skin Backup addon, when the zip file is located on the NAS. I’m thinking it’s just something odd with the Skin Backup addon.

I've put the extrafanart folder in the Artist's folder inside the Artist Information Folder as well as the Artist's folder where the albums are and it doesn't make a bit of difference. Yeah, I'll just add code to let Skin Helper display the fanart for the "EXTRA FANART" setting when viewing Artists or Albums.

Thank you! This was my first time adding advancedsettings.xml ! It works. I do have e a couple follow up questions on this. There is a "no playing" box that pops up briefly. Is that just going to be a thing due to slow processing on my firestick?

Also, advancedsettings.xml - is this carte blanc to be able to manipulate different aspects of Kodi that I would want to be different personally for me or are there some set parameters? Obviously, code has to be initiated a certain way for it to work. But for example, I still haven't been able to figure out getting my library to scroll using the alphabet, so could I add that capability?

Hello again. I was able to get the Latts Repo 4.0.1 installed. I have searched through whats included in that repo. I don't find anything related to the adding of view 16 & 17 and they still aren't there. 😕 is there anything I can send to show you? Like a event log or screenshot of anything to help determine issue? Thank you for your help.

You're wecome! I do not see the "no playing" box on my Windows PC. I can try to reproduce this on my Fire TV Cube.

Lots of options available for advancedsettings.xml.

For the scrolling alphabet, make sure that "SHOW FIRST LETTERS DURING SCROLL" is enabled in SKIN SETTINGS > CONTEXTUAL ART.

In my repo, go to LOOK AND FEEL > SKIN and install AEON MQ 9. This will give you view 16 & 17. You will need to reset the skin (SKIN SETTINGS > RESTORE SETTINGS) after installing to force new skin settings to be applied. I'm getting ready to release another update, which will add a new view...18. This coming update will also require a skin reset.

Yes, please. I would be interested to see what happens on fire device as I'm using firestick 4k max. After a couple of times, it has become a "blip."

I do see the letters as it scrolls. What I'm referring to is, in past releases(different skins: Aeon Nox Silvo) I could click down on my remote twice and it would then let me skip from A to B to C. Whereas now, in some of the views it will skip but not the entire letter. So if I have 20 titles under A, it will skip every 5 titles but not directly to B.

Ah yes, I did forget I had to do the reset. And if I recall it doesn't keep all of my saved settings since it's resetting. I did forget that step.

And I tried a second time. Same results. Although the second time I believe I was successful in adding your repo without installing the original first. But it still doesn't come up with the view 16 & 17.

yes, but if the subtitle file is not named the same as the video, it does not load automatically when playing, yes I can load it later
