There doesnt appear to be any way, inside a skins settings, to change the background colour in the video playback window.

I trawled through the c++ code and changed some code here and there but it didnt have any effect... even hardcoding a change in GUIWindow.cpp to change the "m_clearBackground" to non-black worked wonders everywhere except the video playback window.

So where can I change the default black background (or black video surround) in the video playback window.

I would assume the black edges come from the video player and have nothing to do with the skin.

Unless it's black bars actually encoded into the video as is the case with every blu-ray that isn't 16:9 ratio.
