Guys,  I am using Kodi 20.2. This happens on Android as well as on Windows. Also independent of the skin.

Each time Kodi starts up (after a few seconds) the screen blinks for a moment.

Kodi is doing a library update. However, I have turned off "update library on startup".

I think this is a bug or is there something I can do to turn it off for real?

A library update doesn't cause a blink of the whole screen, you just get a popup message at the top right.

You could try disabling all addons to limit the things happening at start time and see if that helps.

Thank you! Indeed, I deleted everything and did a complete new installation. Problem is gone, must have been one of the add-ons. Not sure what caused it but now I know it's not a bug.
