Win Nexus 20.2 and AV1 mkv. Video stuttering
#1
Hi, was wondering if there is something to setup to make kodi playing AV1 encoded files fine.

On Windows Photo it plays fine, also in VLC but not in kodi.
The video is totally stuttering and cause of this the audio will not be in sync. Sometimes video will hang.
I have an older i7 without AV1 decoder in Hardware, so it will be processed by software on CPU and as the processor is powerfull enough it will be played fine with other software. "AV1 Video Extension" is installed from Store in OS.
What can I do to make it working also in kodi?

Best regards, BiTeMeNoW

EDIT:
Could solve the issue grabbing the libdav1d.dll file from the nightly of Omega (as it uses a much more recent version of ffmpeg and is working with Nexus) and now it plays well in kodi. CPU usage went from max 65% down to 18%. Also added the logo for the AV1 codec in the media flags folder Wink

Sorry but this is a Windows thread.
You should ask an Android user, not me.
But as far as I know apps are installed on a reserved space and you will not have access to the files until your device is rooted.
Btw. the Rockchip 3128 does not support hardware de3coding of AV1.

Hi, are you able to host this file or provide more information on how to get it?

When I check the nightlies folder I only see installation files for Nexus and the Omega folder is empty.

The lack of AV1 functional software support has had me seriously consider using an alternative to Kodi over the last few weeks.
