i have tried all of above tips, but i cant get it work.

i have used following smb code. but there are no files appearing in xbmc:

smb://home;administrator:[email protected]/hd01
smb://administrator:[email protected]/hd01
smb://home;administrator:adminpassword@server/hd01
smb://administrator:adminpassword@server/hd01

any more suggestions on how i shall proceed with this issue?

try smb://192.168.0.2 and see what if gives
if you still get nothing make sure you have enabled your guest account.

same result. can't see any files. could it be that i use the admin account instead of guest?

is there any other way i can test my smb shares?

try using a user account. also, check your shares on your windows pc to see which users/accounts you have given access to.

i have a strange problem. i got to servers which serve smb. server01 and server02. server01 shares work when i changed the syntax in the xml file, but server02 doesn't. i log in with the same user account on both server which used to work perfect. and i am using w2k server on both. the setting are almost equal. maybe there are some bugs to be ironed out? thx for xbmc and thx for the hard work :d

<path>smb://home;administrator:[email protected]/hd01</path>
<path>smb://administrator:[email protected]/hd01</path>
<path>smb://home;administrator:adminpassword@server/hd01</path>
<path>smb://administrator:adminpassword@server/hd01</path>
<path>smb://192.168.0.2</path>
<path>smb://192.168.0.2/hd01</path>
<path>smb://home;xbox:[email protected]/hd01</path>

when i have tried to access the shared folders from xbmc i can see that there is one idle session open with name xbox in windows2kserver.
#25
then xbmc is able to connect to your win2k pc. most likely a problem with your accounts and or access rights for them.

make sure that user xbox has access to /hd01
another thing to try is accessing those win2k shares from another pc to see if that works

#27
run secpol.msc on your client and go to local policies -> security options. check out your values there.
#28
same here - i tried "everything" cannot make it connect to a plain xp machine - other machines can connect to this share.
see no files.
(xbmp works)

smb://xbox:[email protected]/movies
smb://odin;xbox:[email protected]/movies
smb://valhall;xbox:[email protected]/movies
smb://xbox:[email protected]/movies
smb://odin;xbox:[email protected]/movies
smb://valhall;xbox:[email protected]/movies

odin is server name - valhall is workgroup - 10.10.10.10 == odin (dns is set up anyway)
