Manual Playlists Fail to Retain View Status of Videos
#1
Hi All,

Stems from another entry but this is a precise sub-issue (that I believe qualifies as a bug) for manual playlists. Related thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...id=3203683

Reproducible Steps:
(1) Create a manual playlist with at least a couple tv show episodes in it using instructions found here Basic Playlists
(2) Save said playlist as an m3u
(3) Navigate to said video playlist within your skin (usually go to Videos-> Playlists -> and you'll see it in there
(4) Play the first item in its entirety (or I guess just mark is as watched)

Observed: When the episode is done, the play status does not show watched in the playlist m3u view, but, if you navigate to the show itself, the episode will be marked as viewed.

Check this Smart playlists (wiki) and Smart playlists/Rules and groupings (wiki) and these examples Smart playlists/Examples (wiki) and save off as playlist.xsp or use the GUI method.

re: the play status does not show watched in the playlist

Could be a caching issue and doesn't fit the feature request area, set a ticket if this is critical to your use.

My understanding - correct me if I'm wrong - is that a smart playlist is impossible for the following use case:
Every single TV show episode and movie in the Marvel Universe in MCU timeline order (not release order).
