Solved How do you know which shows have been watched?
#1
I recently began transferring my movies and TV shows from AppleTV/iTunes to Kodi.
I started this when I discovered that the latest AppleTV device (at the time a gen 4, I think) didn’t identify which shows had already been watched -- and I couldn’t remember from one week to the next where I left off in a series.
I would have thought that some type of notation when a show had been watched would be a no-brainer for a media manager, however I’m starting to wonder.
I’m a really new Kodi user so I may have missed a setting somewhere, but I haven’t seen where Kodi provides this information either.
How do you guys keep track of what shows you have watched?

Depending on which skin you are using, there is usually a tick or some other type of icon to indicate watched, unwatched or partially (in progress) watched.
You can also call up the context menu on an item and select Mark as Watched or Mark as Unwatched so you can check how it is meant to look when watched and unwatched.

I'm not using a skin (other than the stock one that comes with Kodi).  I'll have to find the context menu again and check out the difference between how Watched and Unwatched looks -- thanks for the tip.

Watched items will have a tick.

Marking an episode as "Watched" causes it to disappear and I don't see how to get them back.  This is awful!

Found the problem.  Changed "unwatched" to "all videos" in the show menu.  And yes, there is a checkmark on "watched" videos.  Problem solved.  Thanks all!
