if more people voice their concerns. we have a bigger chance of a change.
Do you seriously think that their sales would be impacted by missing (maybe) a couple of hundred CE users, who would buy this box because of it's FEL capability? I don't think so, and don't think that they care so much for CE customers, as they do for all others who buy this box without even knowing that CoreElec exists.
It will not became the first L1/Netflix certified box on which CE cannot be installed, nor the last...
Li/Netflix is literally a third of the equation. do you realise only the AMB6+ could do FEL, that box cost like £150. that can't even do AV1 properly.
doesn't have the same features in KODI and it costs 3x the amount G1 cost!
you are missing the way bigger picture and underestimate this box. The price is the thing that makes this very exceptional box. before this box you had to spend £150 now you can spend £53 shipped to my address.
and also even Kinhank themselves couldn't get gig working and it's working in Coreelec. having a gig ethernet is a massive deal and it expands their userbase.
it's a snowballing effect. you have more sales from coreelec which boost the exposure and others buy for android only.
you have many more people know of the brand. and say 5% look at their other products and 2% buy.
and lastly you do realise this box hasn't even had official support yet.
what do you think will happen if coreelec had a little time to iron out all the stuff on this?
Rpi took bloody years to get ironed out.
being so cheap for what it does that devices 3 times the price can't do! $60 for a kodi box that will last 5 years.
