I have three Nvidia Kodi systems. Since V21 all 3 have the same issue
For recorded TV programmes during playback if Stop is pressed, the playback cannot restart from the Stop point. Although the option comes up on the Play menu, the recording will always restart from the beginning
A partial work around is is to bookmark the required restart point before pressing stop. But this only works on the Kodi system that the bookmark was set
I have the Estuary skin and Enigma plug in

Just to add that I experience the same issue with tvheadend as backend. I thought it was tvh specific, but apparently not...

With the release of 21.1, the ability to play a TV recording by a simple short press is restored
However, we are still waiting to be able to resume play back from a previously stopped recording

Please open an issue on github, describing the problem really very detailed, step by step. There are so many different ways to start/stop/resume playback. Remote control button, clicking items, context menu, then those settings for default play action, default select action. All this is important.

With the greatest respect, ksooo, that appears to be overkill. The description of this problem introduced in V21 is very simple
If a TV recordings playback is stopped, and I subsequently want to restart from the stopped point, then I select the programme.
Irrespective of short press or long press, the options of start from the beginning or start from the stopped point (eg 1H10m) are offered.
Select from the stopped point either long or short press and the video will start playing from the beginning - never the stopped point

I tested this (with pvr.nextpvr) after the first post and didn't have a problem so as a minimum you need to paste a Kodi debug log to get this started rather then just complaining.

We are trying to help, but as long as non of the developers is able to reproduce the problem on their dev machines, all we can do is collect more detailed information about your setup, the way you work with kodi. Believe me, it is important how exactly you stop playback and how you continue playback, because their are several ways from users perspective which technically lead to different code paths. With the information you have provided so far nobody is able to help you, sorry.

I should have added that although this problem exists on all three of my Nvidia Shields (different versions) there is no problem on my Android Samsung Tablet where playback from Stopped point continues to work

You should have just added the debug logs, otherwise this discussion is going no where.
