Tried to move to nextpvr as a local told for replacing sagetv. ROFL

Second day of doing some test recordings with 4 HDHR tuners to see how reliable it was and it missed my Wifes Soap Opera.  Nothing else was recording near it but it did record shows a couple hours before and a few hours afterward.  But in all fairness it did record it today.  But its still getting wiped from my PC.

So much for NextPVR being the Bullet Proof back-end recording server software.  Its just the same as all the other stuff like Plex, Channels, Emby wasn't awful but it still didn't pass the testing either for other reasons that the Devs said would work in the future.  They are the "not ready for prime-time players" (recorders)

I'll have to keep recording with sagetv, it didn't miss recording her show.  Never does.

SageTV as my OTA PVR.  Bulletproof with every configurable setting you could ever want/need!  Struggling to find a decent client.. Kodi is interesting now that I found the Afterwatch plugin. Infuse is pretty good after the first few days of using it and its simple to delete a show from disk, one click or two with confirmation!!!!   Traveling via 40'DP 6 months per year.

Since that is a user error I don't need to say much more.  If you had posted your logs to the NextPVR forum we could show you what you did wrong.

I purchased SageTV in 2005 and finally moved away from it around 5 years back due to the lack of support after it was sold. I tested a number of backends over a period of time and the best ones I found were DVBViewer (paid for the full version) and NextPVR. In the end I settled on NextPVR and have been using it ever since and its been very good. I use it with 2 x Quad DVB-T2 tuners and a Dual DVB-S2 Tuner in one Instance, and some IPTV Channels in a second Instance.
In all honesty I dont think it is 100% as good as SageTV was at its peak (I had server and 6 client licences) but with the situation with SageTV support it is in effect dead in the water. I found NextPVR to be the better option. I found that missed recordings a lot of the time are down to poor EPG data and episodes not being flagged as "new" when NextPVR is set to record "New" episodes.
I get my EPG data from Digiguide which is quite good and also if some shows have historically been missed I change the recording to record all episodes and delete any that are duplicated.
The decline of SageTV is a real shame as it was an excellent package 20 years ago it just isnt anymore
