v21 pkscout's Estuary Mod

Try going to the MusicVisualisation.xml file.
That certainly has genre and star rating, plus the regular track/artist/album labels

Thank you. That's it.

I second this, liked keeping the stockish skin with the ability to see time left when paused. Is there a solution in kodi 21?

If I may take one chance at convincing you, since the OSD behavior did actually exist by default in Kodi in the past, it doesn't seem out of line to offer it as an optional configuration option in the skin for all the people who found it useful. Just a thought. Thanks again!

Agreed, I got really used to the full options showing when paused. I tried going through the XML files for for the custom OSD overlay 1109, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for with the syntax changes between the two files.

Hello.

Your mod is very usefull for me to customise menus and widgets.

But after switching to Kodi Omega, the addon is declare as Not compatible and nothing is listed in your repo.

Is it the end of this mod?

Please offer a zip on your github, so it's available via the downloader app.
No idea what downloader app you're talking about, but you can get a zip of the Omega version of this at:

https://github.com/pkscout/skin.estuary..../omega.zip

That is not the optimal way to get this though, as the one for the next version of Kodi will have a different zip URL.  If you install my skin mod repo and then install this mod from there, when you upgrade to a new version of Kodi the skin will update to match your version of Kodi.

I will check this evening but the repo was installed on my Matrix environment and when I migrate to Omega, the mod didn't update and when I browse the repo on Omega, it's empty.

So, even with the repository installed on Kodi Omega, I was not able to update the mod.

But with the ZIP file, no problem to install it.

Now, I'm lost, after my RPi upgrade (LibreElec, Matrix to Omega), I have lost the settings.xml for this mod and I can't remember how I was able to change widgets in Move menu.

Instead of displaying 'In progress movies' or 'Recently added movies', I was able to link each submenu to a XPS playlist file

This mod can do this ? If so, how ? Or I have to edit the XML files ?

My mod has never done that.  Honestly, I don't think you're even talking about my mod.  I think you're using some other Estuary mod that uses skin helper to create those kind of widgets.  Maybe this one:

I'm sure I use your mod as it's the only installed on my RPi4

Guess I had edited XML files to do the tricks

But thanks for pointing me at the other mod, I can do exactly what I want !!

Thanks a lot for this mod, this solved some really annoying issues for Estuary! Should be default for the regular skin, in my opinion. Anyway, thanks, you really helped me out here.

Thanks, and I'm glad you like it.

There was some discussion about adding this functionality to the default Estuary skin, but at the end the team felt like it was more complicated than we wished it was for the person on the other end of the remote to use.  Since Estuary is the first foray into Kodi for new people, we didn't want it to be burdened with too many options or choices.

The nice thing about Kodi is that others can provide additional functionality, so since I had done all the work and found it useful, I provide this mod for folks who have grown out of Estuary's settings confines but either like the skin or need something that is still lightweight (for devices like Pis) but has a bit more flexibility.

Greetings pkscout and many thanks for the modifications and functionalities added to the default Estuary skin.

This skin could indeed become the main default skin without confusing the average non-technical Kodi user by Hiding the “Configure Skin” section in the “Interrace Settings” when it is set to Basic/Standard mode and only show it in Advanced/Expert mode.

Any user on the other end of the remote would expect at least a bit more advanced skin modifications and customizations if they have already set Kodi to Expert mode, the current default Estuary is very bare-bones when it comes to customizations. It is much easier to keep up to date with the latest Kodi version with the default skin as a modification base compared to other third-party skins that quickly become outdated after major releases and overtime bloated/slow with remains of old legacy code.

Keep up the good work and best regards.

Not sure if this is possible via your mod or if it's of interest to you but, just in case... it would be helpful (particularly for certain videos such as sports, international variants, etc) if there was an additional video info box at the bottom of the screen (like the ones showing resolution, codecs, etc) for FPS/framerate.
