Is the CPM version of coreelec what's recommended? Where can I get the latest version?

See relevant info for CPM versions here

strangely the x96 x10 (8GB 64GB ROM) is only going for $114 (pre tax) from aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10050060...ry_from%3A

how is it that it's cheaper than the AM6B+ with half the ram and storage and older chipset? Imagine if team CoreELEC team get FEL working on this box and a good sale that brings it under $110
the 8GB is useful for very heavy skins right? Arctic Fuse 2?
team CoreELEC is actually working on that specific box so you can expect 10 year support like the N2+ if they are successful.
That will probably be my next box in 2 years

I got CPM installed on the AM6+, and I though I was all set, but I've been getting regular video buffering when playing bigger Blu-ray rips. I'm streaming through the Jellyfin addon, and using ethernet. Are there some recommended network settings I should be using?

you will be best served asking them on their forum https://forum.jellyfin.org they can look through your logs and try to narrow it down for you
typically there isn't any issue with jellyfin on kodi and tends to actually be better that network filesystems (NFS/SMB/etc)

check your transcode settings though, if you haven't setup hardware transcoding and it is trying to transcode then i guarantee that it's going to stutter using software transcoding

i had buffering that did not present itself until playing higher bitrate rips ~90Mbps. the "Settings->Services->Caching" settings described below alleviated that for me.

Thanks, I changed the caching to Adaptive and tried changing the memory size from 64MB up to 512MB, but I'm still getting buffering .

I tried switching over to the Plex addon since I see more people using Plex
https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect

Unfortunately that didn't help, I'm still getting buffering on high bitrate videos 😔

When I put the same video file on a USB drive, no buffering. It must be network related. What's the easiest way to run a speed test?

iperf is a good way to test local network speeds. it's peer to peer between the two specific devices you care about. a lot of those speedtest add ons are from the device to public internet, which isn't really what you want to test.

https://wiki.coreelec.org/coreelec:network#iperf

setup your device serving content (plex, jellyfin etc) as the receiver

Not as easy, but maybe more accurate is iperf3. Here's a tutorial of how between a NAS & a computer. But, same principal between NAS & CoreELEC, running two instances of iperf3 on your computer.

Ha, jinx @signde, we had the same idea Big Grin.
