Mod Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega)
@melons2
I think I'd like to keep the MQ 9 weather widget the way it is, but I did add some options. I added code to display a 7 or 10 day weather widget for the vertical menu. Also, in the "WEATHER" menu of the widgets management screen there are three new buttons...HIDE 'DAY' BACKGROUND, CHANGE THE WEEKDAY BACKGROUND COLOR and CHANGE THE WEEKEND BACKGROUND COLOR. The second image is with custom background colors, and the third image is with "HIDE 'DAY' BACKGROUND" enabled.

I'm not sure why the search function is not working for you...the default search should work just fine. Try this if you would please...install the Global Search add-on from the Kodi repo and attempt your search again.

Good morning
It's been a long time since I updated the skin, I had stayed at version 1.36.
This morning I updated to 1.43 and the menu bar is gone, I apologize if I missed any instructions in the thread or did I do something wrong?
Thank you

Go back to first post on this forum and download 1.4.3 zip file. extract "MainMenu.horizontal.xml and copy it to MainMenu.xml in Kodi xml directory. This should bring back Kodi  horizontal menus.

@andrzejls
Thanks for the help.
If I have not misunderstood should I replace it instead of the file “MainMenu.xml” or should I open it with text editor and replace the content inside?
Thanks

I apologize if maybe I am doing some steps wrong.
I renamed the file “MainMenu.xml.horizontal” to “MainMenu.xml” and copied it by replacing it in the directory, but the menu bar still does not appear.

Open your settings.xml file in userdata/addon_data/skin.aeonmq9.mod and make sure you have these two settings...

xml:
<setting id="mainmenu_style" type="string">horizontal</setting>
<setting id="mainmenu_vertical_style" type="string">32</setting>

@andrzejls
Thank you both very much for your help.
The file “setting.xml” was missing the two lines that I added.
Now it works perfectly, I ask if the file “setting.xml” can be already changed in the next versions of the skin, avoiding to change it at each update.
Thank you

Thank you for the weather changes.

Will they also work in the horizontal menu?

@Dom61
Now that you have the settings entered they will persist with future updates.

@melons2
You bet...they will work for the horizontal menu as well. I'm hoping to get the update posted Wed. morning.

Latts - Hi;

I'm on Windows 10 and noticed an issue with the time and weather; they periodically disappear. Artwork beef is one particular addon that can sometimes causes this to occur. Artwork beef has an option to both display a full progress bar as well as a selection to display the artwork update count. Upon completion (I think with positive results), the bar then disappears and takes with it both the time and weather.

Hi @latts9923,

Here is the Skin Helper Service I'm using:

Also, I've noticed that my awards information is also missing. Now I remember in the past, you had to subscribe to some guy on Patreon in order for it to work.
Is this still the case?

I have never witnessed the time and weather disappear after Artwork Beef has completed a scan. I will give it a few tests and see if I can reproduce your problem.

@JanM201
That's the same version of Skin Helper I'm using. Like I said, a restart always fixes the problem for me. I'm not sure what else would keep the studios from displaying for you.

I still subscribe to the OMDb API Patreon page.

UPDATE #43 - This will update the skin to v1.4.4

Image Additions
  • I added a new button named "WIDGETS - ITEM SIZE" to SETTINGS ► SKIN SETTINGS ► MAIN MENU. You have three options...100%, 75% and 50%. It is set to 100% by default. Thanks to @melons2 for the request!
    Image
  • I added new widget controls for the vertical menu. You can now set the number of widgets displayed to either 6 or 9 in SETTINGS ► SKIN SETTINGS ► MAIN MENU. The number displayed will decrease to 4 or 6 when set to 100% with the MQ 8 vertical menu bar.
  • I added the percent played text to the unfocused items in the video widgets.
  • I added a new AV1 icon to the video codecs. To display this icon you will need to add one of the following extensions to your filename...".av1." or ".av-1." Thanks to @Genuine3000 for the request!

  • I added three new buttons to the Weather Widget options...HIDE 'DAY' BACKGROUND, CHANGE THE WEEKDAY BACKGROUND COLOR and CHANGE THE WEEKEND BACKGROUND COLOR.

Image Bug fixes
  • I fixed a problem with the audio language media flags displaying multiple audio codec flags when the "MEDIA FLAG SIZE" was set to "MEDIUM" or "SMALL". Thanks to @JanM201 for reporting the bug!
  • The percent played text for the focused item was not in the correct position when the horizontal menu widgets setting was set to 12.

ImageMaintenance
  • I reduced the font size of the artist in layout 3 of music viz. Thanks to @jasn for the suggestion!
  • I removed the playlist position number from the song title in layout 3 of music viz. Thanks to @jasn for the suggestion!

NOTICES
  • After installing this update, if you have the vertical menu selected you will need to copy the contents of MainMenu.xml.vertical to MainMenu.xml to restore the vertical menu.
  • This update will require a skin reset for new settings to be forced to settings.xml. To keep from losing your current settings, make sure you export your skin settings (SKIN SETTINGS > RESTORE SETTINGS > EXPORT SKIN SETTINGS) before you install the update. After installing the update you will need to reset the skin and then import the latest settings export.
