I can only congratulate the KODI developers! The only touch screen interface that can actually be used has been trashed! Using the touch screen of the basic kodi theme is a pain even after turning on "touch mode"! The rest don't even try to be touch-friendly! It seems to them that this is not the future...

We are volunteers working on Kodi in our spare time, so if no one volunteers to look after something then it can no longer be supported. The code is there if anyone wants to take it up, but there doesn't seem to be any demand for a touch version of Kodi given yours is the first post here about it.

Btw there are dedicated apps for Android and iOS designed for remote control of Kodi that are specifically designed for touch interfaces. Nothing to stop you using one of those on the same device you have Kodi installed on, although that's only really useful for music.

I really hope someone is able to pick up development, but the 4.0.0 version on the GitHub page still works on Omega. It just has to be installed manually, since it's not available in the official Kodi repo.

Which remote would you suggest? I have used Yatse, but not impressed. I have Kodi on an old Galaxy S5 for work, small controls, big fingers. You get the picture.
