Movie plot scraped nothing else, a manual 'Refresh' scrapes fine - Universal
#1
Hi there,

I am running a fresh install of libreElec 12.0.1 with kodi 21.1 on a raspberry pi 4B.

I scraped my library for the first time the other night and have noticed about 90% of the movies scrape fine with images, text, actor profiles, etc... however there will be a random amount of movies that scrape with a random scene from the movie as the thumbnail while adding the plot in the information but nothing else. If I click 'Refresh' in the informatoin it will re-scrape the movie, normally only asking to confirm the single result of that movie title and then it will load everything normally with a full scrape. I have tried this on both the python scraper and universal with the same result.

I am therefore wondering, if it can scrape it perfectly using a 'Refresh' what is causing it to not work initially?

Example:
Movie used: Beautiful Disaster
Named as: Beautiful Disaster 2023.mkv
Scraper: Universal Movie Scraper
DB Link: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1016121...l-disaster

Debug Log: https://paste.libreelec.tv/cheerful-foxhound.log
I cannot seem to add my log to the kodi paste it says error, here is an alternative:

Any assistance would be great thank you.

Yes, seems to be a few problems. Many are user error, others I can't figure out just yet.

1. TV Shows won't scrape because you haven't numbered your episode files correctly. You need to have S01E01 format numbering.
2. There is no such show as Vampire Knight S01-S02 1080p Dual Audio BDRip 10 bits DD x265-EMBER
3. There is no such show as [Judas] Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance) (Season 1) [BD 1080p][HEVC x265 10bit][Dual-Audio][Eng-Subs]

4. You are using the Universal Movie Scraper. It seems to be throwing out a lot of errors, but can't tell if there is a problem in your setup or some new issue with the scraper.
Please change back to the default scraper TheMovieDatabase- Python and run the scraping again with a new log. Let me check if you get the same errors.

5. Harry Potter 1 won't scraper because of your spelling mistake in the filename.

6. Quite a bit of time is being wasted on scanning your recycle bin and making false api requests.

You really need to clean up the folder and file naming of your media otherwise items won't be found, or the wrong title will be found and used.

Have a read of the setup guide... https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Create_Video_Library

Thank you very much for such a detailed response Karellen.
I have recently upgraded from Kodi 18 so there has been a few changes.

I have always wondered how to stop scanning the recycling bin and other system files, but have found the solution in the link you provided!

And yes thank you, I was aware about the TV shows being named incorrectly, I was just being lazy with those ones. It was more the Movies that was the main issue.

I am sorry though as I found my main issue was that I had random NFO files in my movie folder for those movies which I was unaware of. I am not sure how they were generated as I never made any movie NFO's. However I reported my post asking for it to be deleted hoping you would see it.

Thank you very much for your time, I have still learned some more things!

Ok, I didn't notice those in the log.
Is the problem resolved? Universal Scraper seemed to be spitting out a lot of errors, so don't know if you have somehow resolved it now.

No, didn't see it. But lets leave it here for a bit in case you get stuck again.
