Release Kodi: Windows Plugin under Context Menu of Movie to Open Folder Location of Source?
#1
Long title, but is there a plugin or setting I can create or edit, that would allow me to click on a movie and open its folder location where the files reside?

I am thinking of the context menu where under the many options like Play, Play Next Queue Item, Information, etc., I could get the option like "File Location" or "Source" so I could access the folder of the movie right from the context menu.

Ultimately I am trying to get to the path so I can access the path's location and highlight part of it as needed.

Using Estuary skin: Context menu -> Information -> Activate far right tab (left cycles round to the far right) 'Refresh' shows the item's location below the tab bar. Unfortunately, I can't select it with my mouse.

This should really be in the feature request area. Some skins show the file path up front in the information page (e.g. Aeon Nox), while others it's a little more circurious as in Estuary with the slide to the right. One of the reasons windowed Kodi is so useful, keeping the PC file explorer up with Kodi on the desktop for file movement. But for most of us deleting & file maintenance can be done within the Kodi interface. Suggest Add-on:Metadata Editor (wiki) which can edit most of the parameters of the .nfo through the context menu.

P.S. don't forget to export these changes as separate files.

Thank you. The information tab under the context menu does indeed show the path. Nice feature.

The limitation to me is I cannot highlight the path and paste it into another application. I have to open the path in Explorer after seeing where the path is in Kodi and then copy it from there.

Didn't mean to make this a feature request, thought a solution may have already existed.

Yes cut & paste has been requested many times for this reason. Skinners have managed to utilize this in the key search section, but it didn't get further.

Had a personal addon that does this via "runscript".  I reworked it into a context menu item.  Windows platform only.

I think you have to restart Kodi after installing from zip for it to take effect.
