PVR manager is starting up: 0%
#1
I've been searching on Google for a while now and couldn't find any real solution to this bug. Either people are still using an older version of KODI and don't experience this bug, or people just don't care that much about IPTV.
I used IPTV Simple Client on KODI for months now without any issues, but after upgrading to a newer KODI version, clicking on the "TV" tab is now stuck at "PVR manager is starting up: 0%". I also updated all my addons after upgrading.
I already tried to reset KODI and start it with only the default settings, but nothing worked. It seems that it's not compatible with the latest version?

It's not like i messed up one of the settings, everything was working great on a previous version.

What was the previous version?

If you revert to that version does it still work?

And please post a full debug log. The log you posted does not have debug enabled

But I think I know you problem. It looks like all your add-ons are for a previous version.

Can you please install cleanly and try again.

Hello! I have the same problem now!

I've been using Kodi v21.0 Omega x64 for about a month without any issues on Windows 11.

Now I jus saw there is a v.21.1 version available and installed it (just overwriting the existing) and my PVR Simple Client stopped loading.

When I enter TV I see in the upper right conner that PVR is loading and always on 0%.

I tried to delete my Kodi and performed a clean install of v21.1/21.0 and PVR right after and it's the same issue.

The version of PVR it downloads is 21.8.5 and see I have an option of 21.8.4 cached which I tried too but no results.

How can I run PVR Client now? Any help is highly appreciated! Please help!

P.S. Finally after multiple reinstalls of Kodies v.21.0-21.1 the PVR Simple Client started loading. This happened on Kodi v21.1 and with my User profile folder at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming, so all of my settings are intact luckily.

Hello, today I upgraded to Kodi 21.2 and now have the same issue after this. This is really annoying, definitely...

P.S. FYI apparently it somehow has deleted my m3u playlist during Kodi upgrade and the PVR could never finish loading. When I've chosen my playlist location again in addon setting it finally loaded after Kodi restart.

Are you saying that the addon settings were deleted? And you needed to reconfigure them?

phunkyfish, no, all of the other settings were intact and more over the path for the m3u file was shown in the preview line but when I entered to set it, there was no file there, like it has been deleted. So, I just selected the file from another folder (luckily I have a backup copy of the m3u file) and I hope it will not be deleted again during next upgrades...

That’s very strange. And backups are important!

Have the same problem as the users above.

I blew away the Kodi data directory, did a fresh install of Kodi and the IPTV simple client.

I then configured the IPTV client using these instructions and as soon as I enabled the plugin, Kodi went into a hard loop displaying the "PVR manager is starting up: 0%" message.

I force quit Kodi, restarted it and then I found that the channels populated, and things more or less behaved as expected.

I then quit Kodi normally and restarted. Kodi into a hard loop again and displayed the "PVR manager is starting up: 0%" message.

Is the log you provided for when it worked or when it failed to load?

I can see that it loads the channel list but the EPG starts but does not finish.

I suggest you copy both files locally (M3U and EPG) and test that first before using remote URLs.

That did the trick!

I just had to use a local EPG file.

I tried restoring the setting to use a remote URL again in case it was a one off setup bug but Kodi locked up again so will use a local EPG file for now.

You may need to set a user agent to use the remote file.
