What are the steps you are taking to do that?
Downgrade to Android 12 or 11? Changing the Android version only effects the partitions, and not the Kodi CE performance? Thanks.
I'm on ATV12 & staying there. Won't upgrade to 14 until it's stable and/or there's an official OTA update. If you're on ATV12, just SSH into your box & run these commands.

Upon reboot, I'm finding the Homatics box pretty close to Ugoos AM6B+ performance. I also have HS400 enabled under CE, and have mounted my network shares. All these collectively make a big difference.

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered one. It was in my cart this morning @ $90.11-$8. With tax = $87.97. Seems to have gone up $5 since.
Have you figured out the best version of Android 12? Can you direct me to it? Does the speed of the USB sd card matter? Thanks again! I watched your YT video. Hopefully you make more.

Can you share something on CE bootup time, from Android Homescreen to get to the CE Homescreen? I ask because it can make a big difference on what USB flashdrive one is using for CE. Just curious how big the difference is with what you have done now.

On Kodi CE, correct? How do you rate the performance of the 2 boxes?
Like I mention before ... the feeling of the Vero V is better, dunno if that is a measurable performance difference.

From what I am reading, the option to move CE user storage to eMMC will go away for CE NG with Android TV 14.

ATV 14 moves to using the EROFS file system format which is not supported by the Linux kernel tied to NG (4.9).

So hybrid eMMC mode on the SEI devices will require either ATV 11/12 or NO only for ATV 14.

NG image doesn't use any file from android partition by default (like tee stuff on NO) and EROFS partitions doesn't matter. Which means moving storage to eMMC should still work. The only difference is data partition name as written in original instructions https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/homatic...9?u=vpeter

Which sd card are you using?

Regular Homatics & Dune Homatics don't have SD card slots. Used the fastest USB3.0 stick I had laying around. I use this simple & handy Windows command prompt script to test:
Code:
winsat disk -drive F
(Run CMD as administrator & substitute 'F' for whatever drive letter your USB stick is assigned)

Do you one better Smile w/this video:

Spoiler: Ugoos was about 10 seconds faster. Not a big deal, and while performance within CE is also a tad faster than Homatics, it isn't a big deal.

@hdmkv, I love tech, thanks for sharing! I subscribed and would love to watch more videos of these boxes. Could think of tests you can perform on different boxes in regards to CoreELEC. like playing certain files and opening up folders and running addons like Plex. Lots are also interested in S928X (X96 X10) vs S922X-J (AM6B+) vs S905X4-J (Homatics). It's fine if you don't have the time. still loved this comparison.

In regards to the boot time difference, their is a massive difference and not as close as you said it was.

25.6s vs 35.65s, that's 39.2% speed increase
Reply
That speed increase sounds significant, but it's just ~10 seconds booting up or switching to CE, and performance in CE w/Homatics after you enable HS400 & do the data move to eMMC, makes it fairly snappy. Not quite AM6B+ snappy, but Homatics is quite a bit cheaper, supports AV1 & has official Android/Google TV. It's a better value overall.

With Plex, feel it would be similarly limited like Kodi on the Android side as with unofficial Android TV/Fire TV boxes like Ugoos? I'm curious too though & will test, compare Smile.
