SMB sessions not terminating correctly
#1
if you check "sessions" under computer management on winxp even with the xbox off there's several sessions which are sitting there waiting to time out Sad

unless you have win2k server with hundreds of sessions as an option your xbox cracks the shits when the pc says "sorry no more sessions to this workstation" (you can only see that message on another windows pc)

also latest build seems to crash very often

i think i see this behaviour as well (on win2k).

i play an mp3, browse around, play other mp3s, browse some more, etc...

i now have stopped anything from playing, and xbmc is just sitting on the main screen.

win2k shows 5 established connection from the xbox to pc.

also, while taking a look at the open files, two of the mp3s that i did play are listed there which means xbmc still seems to have a lock on the files. looks like the smb connections needs to be closed properly.

thanks,

ts

hmm open files are not good :-)

the only bug i was aware of is when using smb://pc a lot of sessions where left open. if you where using this, use smb://pc/share for now.

darkie,

fwiw, last night i watched a movie, the movie finished, and i just checked the sessions and open files.

1 open session, and 1 open file. the open file is the movie from last night, and the open session is the same.

the open sessions is of course the one from last night.

darkie,

i just remember that yesterday, when i first tried to watch the movie, it exited about 2 minutes in. that is probably where the stale session is from as well as the open file.

thanks,
